When the original creators decided to leave production because of "Creative Differences" you know you're in for a ride. 😂

mfs sound so ignorant and uninformed when they say this because what’s come out is supposedly the creators left because they wanted to make MORE changes lmfao and netflix wanted to at least try and stick more to the original. mfs always wanna say the creators this the creators that and how them leaving ruined the show but don’t mention that they left because they couldn’t do MORE of what the same people are complaining about 😂

Kudos. The way they produce disposable characters is an art in itself. *Jet* : Heroic entrance total shitbag irredeemable a few moments later. *Zhao* : Seemingly conniving weasle, scratch that, all Azula *Heibai* : "Hello my na..." *Wanshitong* : Exposition bird poop *Koh* : reduced to classic horror monster but at least raising the stakes and urgency of the episode; next episode: "I got yo' stuff"; "Cool... Deuces"

I like this video. You’re mellow and just talk about what you like and what you don’t and why instead of making anything a bigger deal than it is. I’m sad that this is going to be some people’s first experience of Avatar, but I’m glad it’s made people think and share their thoughts, and that it’ll cause some people to watch the original for the first time. I don’t like a lot of what they’re doing so far, but who knows? Maybe they’ll pull something of value out of it.

Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed 😄 If people watch this series first but then get into the cartoon, I think that's the most valuable thing that could happen. Also, the showrunner for this first season just left the other day, so hopefully the new folks in charge will improve upon some of the good things that are already there.

Yeah... the forced exposition was horrible, and obviously I'm not 100% what they plan on but with Wang Shi Tong not being in the physical realm means no Library, which means appa needs another way to get kidnapped, which means guru pathik needs another way to get introduced, which means aang won't get full control of the avatar state, plus zuko doesn't have anything to justify him changing sides (yes, the word he didn't say once, honor) so aang is gonna need another firebending master, also means no azula zuko agni kai, and basically if you go down the rabbit hole on all the changes, without making something massively different, aang may still beat ozai, but ba sing se will still stand under fire nation rule because no setup for the order of the white lotus. I mean there is so much wrong with the continuity here that it's kinda hard to even say it's a remix or adaptation of ATLA, it's basically an original series at this point. I actually went back and watched the 2010 film and realized that in like 90 minutes that movie setup more character arc opportunities than NATLA. 0/10, scrap it, throw it away, burn it in fire, soak it in napalm, then bury it 2,000 ft underneath the Marianas Trench. The 2010 was legit better and that's such a low bar that idk what to say. Like okay, the cgi was alright, and sokka not being sexist can be overlooked, but no one else is setup for an arc... the necklace episodes actually setup a lot of this stuff in the original, I think if they had like maybe spent 10 minutes on that it could have been salvaged. Lastly, no one's gonna ask how a shirshu swam to Crescent Island? And how Sokka actually took his sailing test with Bato because he was too young before Hakoda left. Like... no one's gonna bring that up? It's just shoehorned in and we're like okay, none of that's canon, even for an adaptation, so... but it made Aang all serious and had the cabbage man so it's AMAZING.... 😒 man no one actually paid attention to detail during the original to see the setup? Last thought... somehow Katara became a master with 1 scroll and like 30 minutes of combat. In the original they were at the north pole for like a month before Zhao came. So... all you need is a scroll and 30 minutes of practice to be a master? Sweet, just make ep 1 gaang finding scrolls for earth and fire, ep2 have just a big montage of him practicing, and he can just go knock on Ozaia door. It's not like Aang burnt Katara under Jeong Jeongs instruction and refuses to firebend for like ever, he has no reason to fear it so we can just wrap this up in like 3-4 episodes, it's established that you don't need a master, you need a scroll and about 30 minutes to become a master bender. Skip toph, hunt 2 scrolls down, then end it before the fire nation takes ba sing se and your continuity is fixed.

From your review I see the most of it and it much worse than I taught. I didnt see the series but watched a lot of reviews and most of them didnt show that much detail and after I see this, yeah i wont watch it, cuz it is dumsterfire. Those changes make it very hard for later seasons. Even in this one we have huge problems. Like Iroh captured in Omoshu but king Bumi is not gonna say anything about it? HOW? If this guy is changed by this war, then he will kill Iroh right away but nah just let him transport to another prison, WHY? He was so harsh on Aang for no reason cuz in this adaptation, Aang go for a casual flight with his bison in to the storm LOL? Still makes me laugh. But the main reason and onr of the most powerfull generals in his prime time Iroh, he is not gonna confront him? How is that make any sense? And Zuko just lost his uncle, HOW? If Zuko knew his uncle transported to another prison and not wait outside the walls and tail them then he didnt care about it or writers forgot about that. Zuko my man u r the blue spirit who goes into the fire nation occuped territory and saved Aang from Zhao but for your uncle u dont wanna do the same in that same night? Zuko finally captured the avatar, he achieved his goal. But he just let Zhao take the avatar from him, just like that? The Zuko in the series will fight to death with Zhao rather than let him take his grand prize from him. Even if his uncle say dont do it, he will fight him. From his POV it is not a logical decision. The guy fight with all those earth benders to save his uncle but when it comes to Zhao, he is a little puss? Doesnt make sense. The guy can enter all those fire nation soldier base and save the avatar from him to give his father himself but here he just let him go without put a fight? The writers saw that some people blame avatar for dissappearing so they thought it is cool but here he doesnt dissappear. So why are they blaming him? Bumi, look u learned the genocide, lets say, 1 year later so Aang is 13 yo. And ıf he was there to fight the fire nation then he is gonna die. Dont u know that? That 13 yo, only air bending prodigy, what is he gonna do? U see the guy like 100 years ago and he has the same appereance so arent u gonna ask him some questions before? Like Aang what happened, how are survive that, why r u still a child? If u know those answers than u gotta think there is some force at work and he couldnt do anything and now he is just like that instead of blaming him. One of the worst change is Gyatso. In the OG, he always fights the coulcil. He isnt gonna let them do whatever they want and he always defending Aang. He says "he is still child" and dont let them take Aang from him. But here he is like yeah they are gonna seperate us instead of saying dont worry Aang, I will be with u or some part of your avatar journey. and the attack happens the same night? Why? Arent u gonna show us that Aang is slowly seperated from his playmates and always taught lessons instead of giving him some time to be a child or something? No, cuz we wanted to show u the genocide OMG, WHY? This is the definition of edginess, why show us intead of letting us imagine it? They think showing the genocide is mature content but no, it is the opposite. In the Game of thrones' early seasons, we didnt see a lot of battles, but the writing was super good and it made it mature. This is opposite of it. Regarding Gyatso, showing him in the spirit world is not very goos for me. Cuz when at the end Aang trying to find a way to end the war without killing fire lord, he consalted the avatar but now he can just go to spirit world and talk to his friends Gyatso or whenever he wishes, he can go to spirit world. This makes the death of Gyatso cheap. We dont see that forever lost when someone dies thing out the window. So death is now just an inconvience not a permenant lost. English is my second language so I hope I conveid my thoughts on this series. As u can imagine it is garbage.

The show runners said they wanted to create the live action for their original fans of the cartoon, meaning the kids that were watching the series on Nickelodeon in 2005 was the focus audience for the live action, except now they were in the mid-20's to mid -30's in age. That is why they introduced more mature themes and violence to more realistically depict the atrocities committed by the Fire Nation. The cartoon may well have wanted to do that too, but couldn't given their 2005 audience on Nick. They may have wanted to show the genocide of the Air Nomads, but couldn't, so they could only talk about it in the past tense. The live action was able to show the genocide and in doing so, cemented the audience hatred of the Fire Nation far more explicitly than the cartoon ever did. "Show, don't tell" is the mantra used against the live action by almost every negative review. But when they show, they get knocked for that too. Seems to me like a lot of people are just looking for reasons to hate it regardless of whether it's deserved or not. I happen to like the Netflix version very much. Could it be better? Sure! Just like every other show in the history of moving pictures. There are things I wish had gone differently, but I'm not willing to hate it because it didn't give me everything I wanted. If you're looking for a beat by beat recreation of the original series, you're not going to be happy, but honestly, what is the point of that? That's something I probably wouldn't watch because I've already seen that story more times than I can count. That's a lie, I would still watch. 😉 Finally, I don't think you have the right to criticize something you haven't seen. You have no basis for your argument regardless of how many 'reviews' you have watched. I would suggest you actually watch the first episode at least so you can choose for yourself whether it's something worth your time, or not.

@@DonMachado They wanted a mature show but failed miserably. Showing the genocide is not maturity, it is edgy and I am not a teenager to see that. The real maturity is show itself with your writing just like Game of thrones' best first 4 seasons. In those seasons, there were a lot of batles but we only see the Stannis battle not anything else but it was great. Showing the genocide made it worse cuz now Aang just believes it? There is no denial like in the OG. Also some mystries should not be shown to us like in death note what are those Death Gods. If u explain it everyone will hate it. Also in Naruto when they explained the chakra's true beginning I hated as well. In the OG avatar, Aang left his responsibilities and everyone died and he showed that untill he dies. That guilt with him all of his life and that's how u can explain his being a bad father. He left and his culture destroyed so ofc he wanna try to revive it and he will give all his attention to his son who can airbend. In NATLA, he talks to Gyatso and now everything is ok? But it wasnt his fault in the first place. He just went for caual light with his bison into the storm LOL. See doesnt make any sense. Bumi's case, everyone says Bumi looked like a guy who has seen 100 years war but Bumi didnt do anything to Iroh, the brother of fire lord and got the nickname of dragon of the west. In GOT we know hostages are very important so why not use him against them? No matter how useless your hostage is the fact that u have the royal family of enemy as your hostage is huge for u and for them as well. In cartoon u can sa yeah it doesnt give u any leverage but if u want GOT-esque show then it matters so much and fire lord must do anything to get them back without them dying cuz that makes u look like an incompetent idiot who cant even protect your own family and your people will care a lot for that no matter how stupid your people are. Sokka and Katara going into the spirit realm like it was nothing or Aang bring them along is WTF. Now spirit world doesnt have any weight in the show. THE SPIRIT WORLD. I try to watch the first episode and it was stupid asf. Katar unintenionaly break Aang's ice or ice sensed bending nearby, WTF is that and how is that make any sense. If ice can break like that then it should do so after the storm is passed and not wait for 100 years. The show is garbage and I dont pretend to be otherwise. Anyone likes it compares it to the movie and the bar is under ground, just saying the name Aang correct is enough for the show to be good and a little bit VFX other than that the writing is worse.

And saying that this was better than the Shyamalan movie means absolutely nothing. You know what's better than that garbage? Pick a show, any show. The live action was objectively bad because of the bad pacing, bad acting, terrible writing, god awful dialogues and abysmal world building. For god's sake the original creators left the show. It is an ok show. Dope fight scenes, great animation, great music and some good character stories (zuko, iro, zoka, ozai, kioshi and monk kiatso)… that’s it, everyone and everything else is mid or straight bad. The script is the worse part of the show, it was hard for veterans actors to pull it off, so I can’t blame the kids for not doing it either.
