@@kurodo9926 That's the point. Vergil is the opposite of an angry sad emo. This description is so inaccurate it's like he was talking about someone else entirely. The only character in DMC to fit this persona is Reboot Dante and even then he's punk, not emo. All things considered, Bury the Light is a hell of a song.

Well Subhumans composer thought that Dante was Donte from DmC. He called Dante a “foul-mouthed anti-hero”. Subhuman was doomed from the start.

I think its more of an explanation of who he was in DMC3 and DMC5 as Urizen („Bury the light deep within“-him trying to defy his humanity in the pursuit of power and „I am the storm that is approaching“-how he views himself as Urizen, an unstoppable force/power) and BTL is him recounting who he was and how he viewed himself

Something people miss is that this starts out like Super Ultra Violet from DMC1, not exact but the intro of the songs carry the same energy with the length. It pulls from every major point in Vergil's life and that is why I love it Bury the Light. Thank you for bringing this interview Alex!

I immediately noticed the part at 4:12 that was mentioned how Bury the Light has a moment that sounds really close to Devil Trigger and I absolutely loved it personally that there was a connection there between the two themes because it showed a connection between Nero and Vergil in their themes. Especially that it was towards the end of the song much like towards the end of DMC5 how Vergil learned to accept Nero as his son. So regardless of if he meant that connection or not, I still view it that way.

The last verse is my favourite because it captures Vergil's innermost feelings (and makes me sad in the process TvT), especially with the reference to Devil Trigger... just awesome. I legitimately listen to Bury the Light every morning, every night, because it means so much to me. And Vergil omg he means so much to me too. And now knowing the personal motivations (hehe) and reasons behind the song just makes it much more impactful to me, as if it wasn't already 😭. I never had a favorite song until I listened to this masterpiece (and properly got into dmc).

Funny thing: I remember that the first time I've listened to "Bury the Light", when the last portion played, during the "BURY THE LIGHT DEEP WITHIN" I got the shivers and told myself "That's it, this is the last Casey Edward's song in DMC. He's bidding us farwell in the best way possibile.". So, I was right all along and Casey really managed to communicate something to us. That's beautifully sad. Anyway Alex, continua così! I absolutely loved this and I'm gonna check out the full interview. Casey's insight into the making of bury the light is incredible. Bury the light is now tied with devil trigger as one of my favorite DMC songs. The story told throughout the song is such an accurate representation of Vergil's story in DMC. That and it just sounds awesome.

I feel like the inclusion of Devil Trigger also harkons the listener to think of Nero and what he means to Vergil. He's Nero's Father, so it makes sense that their songs share a similarity where as Dante is off to the side like an Uncle would be.

Mezzanine by Massive Attack was one of the songs we sent him. Bury the Light is such a beast. One of my favorite songs.
