In English there are multiple variations of "Grandfather." Grandpa, Granddad, Gramps, Papa, Pop, Pappaw. And most of them don't really have the connotation of being associated with any one of the English speaking countries over another. I kind of get the impression that Pop isn't heard outside the US where I live, but I could be wrong. Pappaw has a very strong association of being not just from the US but being from the Southeastern and maybe Midwestern regions of the US. It makes me wonder how many other languages have as many variations on Grandfather as English does, or more. For obvious reasons, this video only stuck to one version per country.

Hi, bro. In Russian there are many variants of the word "dedushka"(grandfather) too, including the short "deda (ded)" - (grandpa) ", and due to the fact that Russian is a flexive language and has many flections, the variants of each word become several dozens.(trslt) Thnks... */watch?v=_8MXYPsnvxE* It's easier to become an Assistant Professor of Mathematics than to learn all the rules of Russian language... PS: PS: Russian language must be learned from birth, otherwise you will not have time to learn all the rules of the Russian language, before the age of two you should already speak basic Russian, if this does not happen, you will be enrolled in the mentally retarded and the road to your future life will be closed to you. So... Russian parents teach their children the language from birth, I already spoke basic Russian at the age of two, right after I spit out the pacifier:"If you don't feed me ice cream, I'll shit my pants to spite you."...😀

In Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 grandfather is called SEEYA. Not thatha. Thatha means father. You have mentioned it wrongly.

Все чистенькие, а сербы... Почему? Или вы нас такими видите?
Nana is usually for the grandmother, although in our family, Nana was my great-grandma on my dad's side. Vera was our grandma (but my sisters and brothers just called her Vera). Mama Josie was my grandmother on my mom's side
