Your explanation is good, but when a terrarium requires upkeep, it loses its claim to being truly self-sustaining...

Hey ! I just want to tell you you give me the love of terrarium. I'm french, and the terrariums solded in shops of my country are so ugly and "synthetic". You give me an other face of the art of terrarium : imitate the chaos of the nature and creating a true ecosystem. You're my biggest source of inspiration, and i love your zen attitude :)

Very well explained video congrats! In some way, it is an enclosed system but only from the matter perspective. As light can enter, it cannot be called an enclosed system since you vary the amount of energy that comes in. Some heat comes out but in general the carbon and water are more and more captured over time. That is why terrariums occasionally need to be opened and misted with small amounts of water. Some pruning gets necessary for that reason.

Perfect explanation! I also believe that airflow can greatly help terrarium success, but not enough to drastically reduce humidity. Could that be due to more useful gases entering the system and being used?

Hlw sir.after watching tons of ur videos.i made a pickle jar terrarium.the plant is growing well but recently i invented 3 unicorn snail in my small pickle jar terrarium. I m confuse what to do.will they survive there? Can you give me some advice?.love watching ur videos.❤
@TheUrbanNemophilist
Жыл бұрын
They may survive for a while but eventually would need some ventilation. Better to remove as they can damage the terrarium and spoil the look (unless you want an ecosystem and not bothered about looks)
