How does the Big XII schedule factor into this? Isn’t Fox obligated to show some Big XII matchups on Big Noon as well? Are they drafting with ESPN concurrently for Big XII dates too?

This was fascinating and insightful. May I add that as recent as mid 2000s, the Big Ten was almost exclusively an afternoon league for the entire season. So Big Noon speaks to this long tradition. Now with the four west coast schools joining, they can and have to spread out their games into every Sat time slot, along with Fri night.

Guy is dang smart but the fact that they don’t consider Seattle part of Wazzu’s market is real dumb. Wazzu has great viewership numbers compared to most former Pac12 and Big12 schools. “Market size” does not matter, viewership does. I say this as a Wazzu fan who gets ticked at other fans for being cheap and not realizing how good we had/have it. Go Cougs!

I love Gus and Joel but man I hate big noon kickoff. I understand the appeal Fox has to do it but it completely screws over the western part of the country. The viewing experience just isn't the same when it's 9 or 10 in the morning. I'm sure Ohio State-Michigan in the primetime window would dwarf whatever game ESPN has the final weekend of the season, and the experience and atmosphere would be way better. Plus it sucks when Penn State can't do their whiteout for Ohio State/Michigan/whoever their biggest opponent of the season is.

If LSU had to play at noon every week we would win 6 or 7 games a year. The student section would be empty, the players would prolly show up late, and the tailgaiting industrial complex would collapse.

I love Fox having so many OSU games. There is no doubt that Fox… specifically Joel and Gus are the best analysts in the business. They are professional in every aspect of the term. The BIG is blessed to have such great unbiased coverage. Last year they covered TTUN a lot and rightfully so. Having said that, they cover the games with great respect for all fan bases.

As an Oregon fan who lives in Ohio, it definitely feels like a bummer that Fox will be hesitant to put Oregon home games as their number one choice. Feels like an opportunity missed with this whole joining the B1G thing just due to geography and time zones

@@jerodjones1771 not really, and I get that the time zone issue is more at fault than Fox. Just feels like a bummer when your conference’s big time network TV connection can’t do their premium package for your home games. Although if we did play at 9 AM: 1. Autzen would get up for it 2. It worked out last time we played that time window in Columbus.
