Oh Helene I am so blown away by your bravery, tenacity and of course your incredible creativity in finding this special way with Richard. YOU DEFINETLY SAVED YOUR MARRIAGE. It could have gone so wrong. I think the important factor here was that both of you had so much at stake to loose, considering the long rewarding foundation you had built together and you had married a good man and a friend. Drinking is such a habit when you are young and I agree, I have also had good old memories but then it changes, and we are unaware of it initially. Its the long unreflected journey that can put you onto the continium of alcoholism. When I became aware of my problem I had no tools to stop, or talk to someone. I would never have gone to AA. The shame and social stigma overides all judgement and then it becomes LONELY and silent and moderation begins. Nobody talks about it. We know the slippery slope and what happens from there onwards. So proud of you in everyway. You have such insight and communicate so well. You propped me up many times in my year that has just happened on Tribe sober. You were always there. I have 2 take away thoughts after this. I. I wish I could send this to my sister in France who doesn't see whats happening in her life. I know. 2. Would it also be an idea to sit and interview your children in a similiar way as after all they have 2 parents back in their lives in such a positive way. What do they think? I am more than proud of you I am inspired by you. Have you thought of coaching in France. You would be a winner for Tribe Sober. With love Nancy
