So...um welcome to mythology, you seem to be really into mythos, for the classics I recommend Percy Jackson series, the teens angst isn't so great but it will cover everything quickly in a story that makes sense vs the one shots of mythologies. For example Thor also had special gloves, a stick, and a belt. 1st rule of writing steal from the best.

This isn't the only thing from Norse mythology WoW has borrowed. WotLK is filled with things lifted directly from Norse mythology, especially Ulduar and the runes the death knights use as a source of power. That whole expansion was basically the Viking expansion.

"But Sargeras killed a lot of people" First of all we dont know when, when he was working with the Titans? What if he was controlled? After he "woke up" and rebel against them? Then he was conquering planets to avoid the Void to conquer those? Then in that case is better to get destroyed than assimilated? Sargeras is similar to Illidan, he isnt an Hero but more an Anti-Hero like LeLouch from Code Geass He is trying to balance(?) the cosmos on some way? He plunged the Sword into Azeroth rather than cut her in half like he probably did with thousands of planets, why?
@wtbskilllololo

He was like wakey wakey sista!So if he ends up to be an Anti-Hero being dominated ending up as our helper in the next three expansions what i think of why plunge instead of sunder is because he wanted to wake the titan earlier before it was corrupted by any of the forces?mby?

Abilities like PI pretty much cooperates the idea that fire and light are the same, the spell effect looks like fire. Another link to Norse Mythology is that it is a much later personification of sun and fire worship in the neolithic - early bronze age. Basically that light and darkness was in a constant battle, every day the sun would rise victorious to later go down to fight the darkness, to return victorious the next morning. Like Norse mythology it was also cyclical, which WoW mythology probably also is. Sargeras nor the titans are strictly evil, they are simply participating in an eternal fight of the cosmos which is what makes the world go around, everything works and does things because the titans are fighting Sargeras or Sargeras is fighting the titans. In other words, Sargeras does things, he is evolution and progress, while the titans try to stop him, they are the status quo, order, preservation etc. They all need to exist and continue to do whatever it is they are doing, it's like an ecosystem. Think about Valhal, the entire purpose of Valhal is Odin's warriors that go out, fight, die, get resurrected, dine, rinse and repeat every day until ragnarok. Norse mythology is partially built on the idea of an eternal fight, a predestined battle, or more like prophetic battle of the cosmos, which is what ragnarok is, it means "death of gods" or "twilight of the gods" and is the end of a cycle, and the beginning of a new one. End of cycles are traditionally thought of as violent, even in millenarianism usually it's about ushering in a new world with violence.

Tyrfing is "Tyr's sword" and was given to the king to wield first. The "blooding" thing is in many mythologies, including the kukri of the Napalese and the Matasura blade of the Japanese. There is some question as to the validity of the "blooding" requirement, some say it's a long-held custom of honor and others say it was a way to discourage people from wanting to see the sword out of the sheath. I know my brother had a kukri (a genuine, not a cheap knockoff) and he made a habit of blooding it on himself if he ever drew it. There's also a story about a Japanese sword (maybe a Matasura or Matasuna) that was forged with the breath of a dragon. How that is done, I don't remember, but it was in a book that my brother had in his library (and I am trying to remember the name of the book but it's been literally decades ago). But, it was a cool story and one he would use in the "tall tales" competitions he used to do (he was a western reenactor, who actually did a few movies). He was also a collector and appraiser and taught the "weapons for writers" panels at conventions.

Isn't Anduin either in his late twenties or early thirties by tww?

Maybe Sargeras burns with the greatest Radiance because he has the greatest/most conviction for his cause. Wielding the Light seems to be more a matter of will/conviction rather than pure "goodness", so maybe that's why Sargeras is as strong and fiery as he is? I still like him being Anshe but maybe this is part of what makes him that way? Wondering if the Void/Old Gods were working towards Shadowflame as a way to endure/convert whatever light they might be struck down with to avoid defeat, assuming the Light/fire is their natural weakness. Random but still.

The fire and the light is what prometheus stole from the gods in greek mythology. When Prometheus stole the "fire" he did not stole simply a mean to iluminate the caves of the early human beeings, he stole the technology for humankind to advance in the evolutionary ways that we know as progress. Conecting that to wow, "fire" and "light" are ways in witch the people (all of the races of Azeroth) developed themselfs in history. We have to keep in mind that, when we are talking about deities of wow universe, we are not talking that literally someone took THE "light" and transformed it into "light" (mythology is written in methaphors to the real world).

There seems to be some semantics coming into play here, no one is arguing that fire does not illuminate. But in Warcraft terms the sentient force "The" Light, appears to be only ever depicted as in opposition to The legion / Sarg. I understand when creating theories many parts of the lore have to be massaged or ignored to fit the theories but its tough to even play along with a Sarg is a being of The Light theory.

And when you really look, there's a lot of influences of Earth mythology going on. Though when i think of nordic influence, my mind goes to Northrend and specifically to Storm Peaks. Up there you've got Keepers Thorim, Loken (had in his case), Freya, Mimiron, Hodir. you also get names like Sif, Brunnhildar Village, Dun Niffelem, and Valkyrion. Than when we went and did the Dark Heart quest, in a blink and it'll go over your head, we went to Ulduar (at abouts). In my mind, it sounds like the devs are saying we're dealing with Ulduar again and that when they revamp the world, we'll probably finally see the missing structure that was supposed to be the actual Engine of the Makers. (the short version of that theory: the debris field of the Path of the Titans doesn't go around the edge of that hole. it gets interrupted somehow almost like it was leading up to a structure that is now missing. Also the Temple of Storms is really close by, almost like they were using Thorim as a battery or a lightning rod to power something)

I don’t think that fire can only be associated with light. as we know, there is holy fire, fel fire and the regular source of fire which we would assume that it’s called elemental fire. So no matter the source, it seems that fire can manifest from any of these. even arcane as mages can also wheeled fire without a connection to the light, fel nor the elements. I wonder if shadow flame would be the fourth in the list though, due to it’s connection to the void.
@1Forn61

fire has different sources yes. It can be through destruction- so fel. It can be through radiant light, through twisting arcane magic or through the elements itself.
