Being able to take 15 DB out of your daily hearing when you work in a loud place and still be able to hear what someone is saying to you can be priceless. You may film in a warehouse but you don’t actually work in a warehouse. I agree $100 is pretty pricey. Maybe there something better on the market. I just don’t think that you use them in the right way to be able to show how effective they can be.

Grocery store earplugs can't change the volume to when you need to hear someone speak, and they muddles the sound. Learn about sound curves. Cheap earphones takes away the highs, that's why som many people hate using them at concerts. The Knops are supposed to have a flat curve and the sound will be mostly the same, just lower. The difference is night and day. It's almost an entirely different product.

I go to really loud concerts 3-4 times a month and generally try to buy earplugs with that have even attention across all frequencies. Eargasm earplugs do that perfectly, but if you drop and lose one of them because you're trying to hear your friend, you may just decide to buy another pair of $30 ear plugs the next week to get that same quality. These address that specific problem. I don't have to take them out and I can turn them down to specific settings at concerts. That variability is also really attractive since you might walk to particularly loud or fairly sort areas in a single concert. I bought a pair and I think it was $60 as an early bird purchase. They still haven't arrived though, haha.

I bought them in August 2019 and they actually work much better than the 'basic' earplugs. I have very sharp hearing, hear over 20 kHz frequencies and am accoustophobic (Louder noises hurt and I hear everything louder than it actually is) Those Knops earplugs really cancel noises, then I barely hear things and feel like I am suddenly deaf. Mines have been tested to reduce a maximum 28 dB (according to what is wrote on the box), but in all honesty I feel like it is more than 28 dB Maybe they're not worth 100$ but 80$, there has been a huge enginering work behind it The 'basic' earplugs reduces quite well high pitches sounds but nothing exceptionnal and is terrible near completely inneficient to cancel/reduce lower pitches sounds

Normal musicians ear plugs cost $200+, however decent quality ones easily go over that, but even with the decent ones you still can't adjust the volume like these. I can't describe how useful it is to be able to turn the volume down all they way on my right ear (where the drums are) while keeping the volume at a medium level in my left ear so I can still hear myself play. These are also different from regular ear plugs, which muffle the sound, in that they maintain a flat frequency response so sounds become quieter, not more muffled. If you don't see yourself using these much then $69 (the base model price for Knops) would seem like a lot, but if you're a musician (or anyone) looking to prevent longterm hearing damage, then these are much cheaper and more convenient than musician's ear plugs.

If these could also function as hearing aids and earbuds, take my money. But they only do one thing, turn the volume down. That's not worth $100. That's not worth $50. I'd pay max $20 for these and they better be the same quality that was shown here in the video.

They have made these for ages look up hunting goods :) 20-25NRR with a compressor you can set for loud noise to kick in in .02 seconds and amplification for quiet all less then 100$ this product is a rip off for the price.
@HolyJukebox
6 жыл бұрын
Probably because you don't value your ears that much... They are my main tool & work asset and $100 does not seem a lot to protect them while still being able to ear clearly what I play. Plus being able to switch them off is really convenient in-between songs... But yeah $100 could be a bit too much, but not crazy too much. And btw, most $20 music plugs suck anyway, even though I've tried a lot of them ;)
@boblister6174
6 жыл бұрын
still 100$ for 20NRR is to much in my books. I agree the 20$ ones are junk but you can get alot better noise reduction for 100$(US) for in ear that have a compressor built in for the reduction but bring everything else up to a set level automatically.

@Unbox Therapy So here is my two cents on this! What deters me from attending music concerts is the sheer loudness of the arena stadium etc... Normal ear plugs work but just muffle the sounds, which creates a distasteful sound to your ear. These would be great with the adjust ability of the frequencies. I rate this 8/10!! Could have been 10/10 if they weren't 100$, MSRP should be like 85$, that my opinion though!
@XdewGaming

Well on one side 100$ you can just get an earbud thing that has noise canceling in it and play music. But on the other side this doesn't use battery and you can wear it 8h a day no problem. But still you could charge the damn thing between breaks like lunch...(plug into pc/charging case or sth) Different use cases calls for different devices. What's your opinion on this? Just reply, I really want to know what other people think. Edit:i know different people have different opinions and viewpoint so no need to get frustrated and salty...

My opinion is this: You guys have no idea what these earphones are for. Let say you are at a concert, you have them on max. Then you walk away and start talking to someone. Instead of taking the earplugs out and expose yourself to the full force of the audio which is incredibly dangerous since your ears wont be prepared for the blast, you simply raise the volume a little bit without damaging your ears. For me with very sensitive ears, this device will be a lifechanger. If I am out in traffic with lots of car noises, instead of taking a long time to put in better earplugs, all I need is to turn a dial. To be fair, doesn't really seem like they understood it fully from the video either. You can't compare these to 2dollar earphones. That's like comparing a standard phone to a smartphone. The sound on these will be incredible and lifelike wile most normal headphones muddles the sound and creates a very strange sound curve. I haven't received mine yet, I truly hope they work as intented.

Eight years ago I brought custom earplugs for 200 Euro and it was a very good purchase. They filter all frequencies of the sound the same way and that's worth the money. It means that the sound quality is better when I dance Salsa and my ears don't get damaged by the loud music. The same goes for musicians who want to protect their ears but who need high sound quality. The ability to adjust the volume would be useful for my use-case of dancing Salsa and would also be very useful for musicians. The optics are also better then those of the earplugs that I currently use. As the review doesn't address the sound quality it's useless for anyone who's actually in the market for high-end earplugs.

You should demo this product in a musician's working environment. Being able to dial the amount of attenuation would be so cool, since you'd try to play loud and then have a conversation between the sections where you play. It's really annoying being forced to remove and reinsert your earplugs all the time.

That’s hearing protection used for hunting and even the shooting range. It’s actually really valuable to preserve your hearing. It’s also used for people who operate loud machinery (like a forklift) If you totally block out sound with those big headphones and then remove them at the end of the day, just the ambient noise can cause permanent hearing loss. So these are meant to “filter” sound out and preserve your hearing. I agree the price is kinda high though. Most companies opt for the cheap foam...no bueno.

Nobody talks about the ear protection they provide and that musicians like me use them to prevent ear damage when at concerts or clubs. I'd say great product.

These would be nice for musicians who are constantly in very loud settings, such as inside a marching band, or for a piccolo player who has a very loud high pitched sound litterally coming directly from their instrument 4 inches away from their ear.

I haven’t tried them but they may be a great ear plug for musicians. I have to wear earplugs when I play due to ear damage and regular earplugs kill the sound quality making jamming much less rewarding. I’m hoping these will permit a quality sound over solid foam plugs. Custom earplugs are available for 900 dollars

I was waiting for you to review these. The price is a bit of a pill but I have been looking for a solution for my problem. I am a club photographer and I feel like my hearing is definitely getting damaged and need to mitigate it somehow.

I could see the value in environments where you need to be able to hear certain things like, beeping machinery or failure sounds. Those environments tend to be fairly loud on average and could be overwhelming without regulation.

This is great. I keep losing my expensive earplugs (cheap ones ruin the sound quality) because I have to take them out when I talk to people. I have to hold them in my hand, and if I wont need them for longer I have to either put them in my pocket or back in the case. It's such a hassle and they keep dropping on the floor. Knops go for €80 in NL right now, and in the end it would be as cheap, if not cheaper. You can simply keep them in, and even improve your overall hearing by having it on the first setting in idle, non concert situations. This really isn't so bad, guys

Hi, have you got the chance to try them? 👀
@MaryamYouyou

@@LaxJack Yes, I've been using them for years now. As far as concerts/festivals/parties go, it's very handy for the reasons I stated. I never lose them because I don't really have to take them out. It filters sound pretty well. The integrity of the music is still decent when it's fully turned close. However there are some cons: They are not very great for every day situations due to the comfort level. They will itch after a while, and you have to be lucky to get a good fit. If you're looking for a daily wearable I'd rather go for electronic noise cancelling that's more comfortable like airpods. Another con is that the tips can't reach the inner ear very well because the exterior is large, as opposed to regular "party plugs" that you would normally insert quite far. Because of this it remains a bit of a loose fit. If you're not a bit careful they may fall out of your ear, and also in terms of protection it's a bit of a bummer that I can't get a super tight plug. I might fix this myself in the future with a custom silicone ear tip. Maybe that will work.

These would be very nice for people who struggle with filtering noise input from the environment such as kids with certain spectrums of autism.

I agree that the price is a bit ridonculous but I could definitely use something like this. I work construction and earplugs are a part of my PPE. There are times when im operating my machine and I need to have one ear plugged and have the other open so I can listen to instructions on my radio. These would be so convenient for me. But the price is silly.

This product fits for the workaholic who like to focus on work and get easily irritated from office noises or conversations. Then again such earpods could be useful for loud machines at construction or manufacturing companies. Product has a good use, just not advertised well or to its market.

Adapt it for children who have sensory processing issues and lower the price. Something like that probably already exists but i don't know. The kids i see at school wear noise cancelling ear muffs so this vould be a good alternative
