@marhawkman303 Very true. My theory is that they felt the vergence would lead them to "The Chosen One". I know Disney wouldn't dare be THAT bold to try to sneak that in, but think about it. If Sol truly believed Osha (or somehow even both of them) were the ones who would bring balance to the Force, then it would explain his outrageous actions, and why the jedi cared so much to risk war with the witches. Hell, Qui Gon was ready to leave the Order when Anakin got rejected by the Council, so it would make sense. More sense than one of them just wanting to go home, really, really badly. In fact, l think that was the plan, but someone high up said "HELL NO", so they removed all mentions of The Chosen One, and that's why the Jedi actions make zero sense now.

i think the big problem with cortosis, in this instance, is that they never set it up in the show, which led to confusion. Like they keep saying that stuff in the EU doesn't matter (like cortosis, it was EU) and then when they bring it into cannon theyre like its already been explained. like what? They kinda explain it in what ep6? but thats doing the setup after the payoff. A way to do it better would be like maybe qimir gives mae a cortosis blade and it shorts something out thats not a lightsaber. it shows its ability and sets it up as something that takes out energy, like a lightsaber maybe? Then when shes up against a jedi and it goes through the lightsaber its that, oh shit leonardo pointing meme lol. it takes the jedi by surprise and thats how she gets the upper hand. then you can explain what it actually is and does afterwards. I will say, they couldn't have inserted the name of the planet the two character were on to clarify the source of the material? I agree with @Ryan-Ji7jz Osha already has the idea that it's an unknown planet by just waking up in a new environment after being kidnapped. The showrunners make it seem like they wanted people to remain in the dark until a reveal they set up (to be a different planet than the one listed on wiki) or look it up on the Wiki page. Which, shouldn't be the main source of receiving information as the audience because the show is unwilling to explain. It should enhance it.

So according to Leslie, Sol warrants death for being presumptive/paternalistic with Osha, but Anisaya gets a pass for pushing witchery on her over protests, Horn-Mom gets away with physically abusing Mae and starting the fight with the Jedi unilaterally, & Mae herself never has to acknowledge let alone be called out on acting creepy and possessive over her sister to the point of straight-up being ready to kill Osha before letting her leave & make a life or identity outside of being just “my twin”.

It never was unsafe. People in Hollywood are just insane and doesn't understand how people in the real world are. They think they are so high and mighty, believe they're needed to make "minorities" feel welcome in some communities as if it hasn't been the case already. They think that without them "minorities" wouldn't be able to enjoy Star Wars or other franchises. I'm writing "minorities" in quotes because it's relative. White people in China or most of Africa are also minorities. And I can say for a fact that non-white people did enjoy Star Wars and other franchises prior to Hollywood going into their crusade for so-called inclusivity. Anyways, cheers from France! 🍻

You guys are stellar! Thanks for much for finding me! That statement she made took me aback. I watched a commentary video on Amandla's...performance on Instagram where they inserted an article where she spoke about this. I wanted to steer clear away from bashing actors, but since Amandla invited it, it's fair game. She has been given everything under the sun in this production and has lucked out more than most will ever get in life. John Williams asked her to play violin for his composition for the show, her mom who's chief of multiple news sites boosted her show by doing an interview with her, the entire show is completely starring her, which is a hefty payday when you're playing two people. She's biracial, reportedly gay, and a woman. So, where on the level she is at, is she being oppressed? I would have held my nose up high and taken my check, Disney does not care all that much about you if you feel like you have to jump out your skin to protect yourself against.....online.....haters. With both your comments in consideration, is it just me or does it feel like EVERY Disney-owned project forces them to include that fact that Disney is "inclusive" on these press tours. Look back at a couple of interviews for the last couple of movies they've pumped out, I feel like all I ever hear is that, "Disney never had diversity before and lacked the spaces for minorities to be who they are." To an extent, maybe, if I'm playing devil's advocate with that point. But, being a nerd now is considered cool and something people take general interest in, so where are we getting this information from? Is that written in the contract of when these people sign on? Is that just a major selling point now rather than something people can use their collective two eyes to see on screen? Kathleen Kennedy will be the death of my sanity if this continues.

Yup, this one was pretty bad. Tried as hard as I could to give it a chance, but it was pretty clear by episode 4 what we were getting. Lightsaber fights were cool enough but still left something to be desired. I mean who else remembers during the prequel era when the fan films were trying there best to mimic a fraction of the awesomeness of those lightsaber duels. Nowadays it’s completely reversed! The fan made stuff has outpaced the official fight choreography by MILES. Plot/ Character development was all over the place and your right, the one non-English speaker managed to deliver the best performance. (I mean he’s a great actor of course, but for him to have just learned the language and be the most believable in said language speaks volumes.) And that weird Amandla Stenberg video… just why!?!? YESS! I wanted to add clips as a comparison, especially with fight scenes, but my video was already dense enough. The fan films have literally spoiled us and I honestly might see why people love to read legends and the books haha. I've been avoiding Ahsoka and other shows simply because I love the characters too much to ruin that image I have, but the prequels and Clone Wars series really set the gold standard. Lee Jung-Jae being the best was a surprise for me. Sure, Manny Jacinto did what he was suppose to do, but Lee literally went out of his way to try and make the best of his role. I don't know, it earns a different respect. At least, the other actors/actresses feel the same in this regard. Watching Ahsoka through clips I can tell they've really lost sight of what made Star Wars what it was. Even telling 50+ year old Hayden to slow down to keep up with the other actresses pace who are younger than him is WILD. The fans have always managed to outshine productions and even the creator respects this! Although, we have Star Wars Theory acting more like the creator than George Lucas even wants to be and I'm glad he's doing his part to help the community. I honestly don't blame him at all, I simply feel bad at how things have just carried on.

Have tommy lee jones hunt osha while she is proofing her innocence while finding her sister again) B. Condense it into a movie of 2h (or maybe back to the good old 90 min). This series has barely anything happening, which is one of the reasons why it feels so dragged out - it literally is dragged out, with many setups leading nowhere just to pad time. There is not much plot. Not saying that it would be great then, but I think there would be more momentum to be engaged and make it more interesting to watch.

definitely one of the more measured comments on the acolyte i've seen on yt, props and subbed. my personal gripe with all of this is, and i know it's all about the buzz, the pay check and quarterly figures go brrr, the ease with which "they" can write of any kind of criticism, warranted as it may be, by just pointing at the diversity chart and picking their favourite -ism or -phobia of the day. i mean, headland sits through two "interviews" a day, gives ever more confused sounding explanations for stupid things the acolyte did and not ONE calls her out for this. they are meant to be journalists, aren't they?

I appreciate it, I try to be as fair as I can with the balance of my own personal opinion on it. It's sooo annoying that that can be used as a shutdown. Again, they would be begging for feedback if they were an indie production company, just for someone to look at their way. But a big company that sells diversity as money to exchange, they couldn't care less and label you anything that doesn't agree with them. I will say, the actors/actresses can be absolved of this scrutiny, except when they want to be performative and join in on it. I have a hard time even listening and sitting through anyone's interviews, I hardly wish to become more invested in these celebrities lives than they wish the public to be. Plus, Disney is so tight about even the phrase" The Force" it doesn't surprise me that while Leslye tries to do these interviews to explain this nonsense, they keep her on a tight leash and she ends up blabbing about something else. And, considering what Ms, Stenberg mentioned about Journalists, they're all corrupt and liars, her words. Guess she forgot that her mom is tied to that career path as well. It's exhausting.

KZitem decided to show your channel to people apparently, that's pretty cool. After watching this video I went back on your catalogue and watched some of your older content, and it's probably because the time in between your uploads isn't consistent that the algorithm doesn't help you. All that to say that I was surprised you barely had more than 200 subs. I hope your channel grows to the size it deserves in the near future. Anyways, to the subject at hand, The Acolyte: First thing, "After this woman set off her inner Dementor", I love it! It's really frustrating what they did to Sol. At first I gave the show a chance and enjoyed parts of it. Even more than the Kenobi and Fett shows since they didn't have Legacy Characters to butcher. Then they manage to make me care about Sol, only to butcher him in the last couple of episodes. He started as a Qui-Gon like open minded Jedi, who's the exemplary Jedi following the Will of the Force rather than the will of the corrupt senate (no such thing as the "Light Side" of the Force, there is The Force and its Will, and Dark Side users corrupt and bend the Force to their own Will for Evil means) which was the undoing of the whole Jedi order. In the end Sol became an absolute idiot. Not immediately warning the Order that there were Sith in the wild. Not explaining to Osha that he was trying to protect who he thought was her, seeing how she was seemingly disintegrating before his eyes. He just made a split-second decision due to the totality of circumstances surrounding him, it doesn't make him a bad person who deserves to die. The haircut things is really weird. Do they think this kind of hair grows braided like that on its own? Other frustrating things with Hollywood and how they perceive black people are the Killmonger haircut they throw around on anyone and them playing Rap or RnB whenever there are black characters in prominent roles. Even if it clashes with what we're watching as it happened with this show. One critique I hear often when it comes to poorly made shows or movies is the "if it's offscreen, it doesn't exist" even when it should be in plain view of the characters. Because the audience can't see Mae's forehead clearly, so does Sol. Which makes him look like a clueless idiot, and it's not considering he should've either felt the darkness within her or better, recognized she wasn't the pupil he taught for years with their bond missing within the Force. So... I didn't plan on writing a novel. It just kept coming as I was rewatching your video. I'm writing something, then you make a point I want to talk about and by the time I'm writing about said point, you make another point I want to talk about. And here we are. Imma stop here before it gets way out of hand. Cheers from France! 🍻

I wanted to take my time to respond this one because I have so much gratitude for your kindness and the fact that you took time out of your day to send this lol. The novels are great, so don't worry too much about it. I agree, The algorithm really tossed me into the big leagues, and not gonna lie, it's pretty intimidating haha. I mean, you're from France? I've hardly ever seen the outside of the US and I'm able to reach people all around in seconds. Definitely working on my filming and editing process, I see that issue too. Trying to strike a balance somewhere in my process, but I think taking anytime I have to film is essential. I'm an endless yapper and videos would be way too long, so I gotta write notes for these kinds of things. I always wonder if other reviewers do this or they just speak of the top of their head --- I'd like to get to that point if possible. Oh my gosh, the rap and Rnb comment is so true. It's like they couldn't help themselves at that point. I felt like the costumes and the hair could have been so much better. Again, where did the $180 million go? I completely agree, in spite of everything in this show, and the willful ignorance they show, Sol was truly the only gem in this. He had all the decent and good elements of Jedi before him, but they had him make dumb decisions and killed him off for a point poorly made that opposes that. Why not make this show entirely from a Sith point of view like Qimir, how he was enticed by the dark side? Maybe have a character working their way to break free from the Dark Side... *cough* Starkiller (I will die on this hill). Anyway, thanks again for the comment!

I never fully understood the critique people include on that bit, it's genuinely not as important as the other stuff you find and I see it as a mild nitpick. I think this only worked with the Prequels because of the remaining vision George Lucas wanted to leave fans with could be seen and in new media, the direction has always failed to match that heart and quality. Visually, we’re beyond our former years, but it’s seems to be swapped in place of consistent storytelling. I think the animated series (minus Rebels for me personally) perfectly holds both of these factors of visuals and a story worth telling. WITHOUT George’s notes/oversight/input, if we want to make that argument. The Sequel trilogy completely disregards his remaining wishes in its existence after he left, which are still a firm no in my end. But I still like specific concepts it introduces.
@thereforeiyam

I don’t disregard anyone for liking or disliking the show, if I’m posing the question, I invite it. Different reasons will follow no matter what. But if you’re trying to void my argument as toxic or “misunderstood” of the franchise, it makes it seem like only your POV is the righteous path. Everything else be damned. I believe the fans are smart enough and have stated what they wanted over and over. There are clear paths ahead dictated by George, free for anyone to write around that, but when you go against it, people want to know why and believe it. The stories have not been believable to those people for a long time.

@@thereforeiyam I'm not saying my view is the only good one. A lot of your criticism was about things I could easily understand and didn't see them as bad writing (tho writing isn't the strongest aspect of this show). In my opinion nothing I've seen in the show deserves being called the worst in the franchise, and The Acolyte is probably the most Lucas-like Star Wars project made by Disney (with all of pros and cons of being similar to Lucas' work). But this is just my experience, and I understand that different people might see some aspects of the show as non-sensical and/or stupid. What I mean is fans tend to forget that Star Wars has always had average writing (with some exceptions), and its true charm comes from symbolism and worldbuilding. But when we get another averagely written Star Wars project, people start seeing its mediocrity as the end of Star Wars when it's actually just tuesday for the franchise. This has always happened and will happen with every new project that comes out. Then, in 10-15 years, people who grew up on The Acolyte will become more vocal and the fandom will appreciate its good aspects more, while remembering the mistakes it made, just like with episode 6, prequels, The Clone Wars, and, probably in a few years, the sequels.

@@sirazazeloflowkey6424 First of all, I think it's a matter of taste, the show gives a lot to think about, and I think that analyzing it superficially is not the writer's fault but ours because now a show has to explain even the smallest detail.I like everything, from the diversity of the cast, their acting and of course the writing. My fav character is Sol, a person with a good heart but couldn't see his mistake until the end. The show leaves it up to interpretation whether witches are bad or not, but if it was just like a ceremony and that's it, it was Sol who thought the worst. It's certainly what happens with minority traditions, people judge without understanding the reason. Osha's character is a little confusing to me, but I can understand why she made her decisions. Of the two sisters, she has always been the one who wanted something more, so it didn't seem strange to me that she accepted Qimir, and if we talk about why she didn't take revenge for Jeckie, well, it's not her style. Even when she thought her sister k*lled her family, she didn't take revenge, she wanted to arrest her. Besides, Qimir hit the nail on the head, the Jedi were not his friends, he saw her for a couple of days and it was the Jedi who taught he to accept tragedies... Another thing is Venestra, her decision has to do directly with politics, she covered everything to save the reputation of the Jedi, I think it has to do with the fact that religion and government should not mix. I could go on but it's already too long haha I hope they make a second season cause I want to know more about the relationship between Plagues, the witches and Qimir...

For me there is this similarity of what disappoints me about most of Disney Star Wars : It all looks and sounds promising, it presents genuinely interesting ideas, many characters are really cool in concept. Sol was also my favorite character and the lightsaber battles were really cool. But for me it is all spoiled and falls flat due to the execution, mostly in the pacing, writing and character progression/development. To me it feels like there was a great show here, but we just got the worst cut of it all or something. I dunno. I think this show deserved better writing and pacing, I feel like it wasted too much time it could have better used flashing out all the various characters and their development and changes. 9:15 THANK YOU FOR REITERATING THIS. While yes there was some corruption within the council and lots of Jedi had flaws, George Lucas clearly stated that the main motif/theme of Star Wars was the battle between good and evil. The Jedi were the good, Sith were the evil. A competent writer would be able to show how the morality and beliefs of the people in these groups can sometimes deviate to the other side, while still keeping the fact that the Jedi and Sith inherently represent GOOD and EVIL. Instead, this show just paints the jedi as corrupt assholes and the dark side as “misunderstood.” It’s the cringiest attempt at being edgy and different for the sake of being edgy and different. TL;DR - F*ck this show
@thereforeiyam

It was genuinely INFURIATING to me that they were making it seem like the Jedi are evil out the gate while the Sith are a bunch of pretty boys looking for women to understand them. Good and Evil, as you said, has been a concept that George Lucas has echoed time and time again. I can still feel that anger bubbling up just thinking about it. How in any sense does it add up that they're in the REBIRTH ERA of the Jedi and in all-time peace, but all they do in their time is lie and do weirdly, unethical things that make them look like butt munches. They completely butchered this concept.

Great video essay. You make excellent points, and highlight what are, to my mind, the most important ones, re: character arcs, narrative structure, storytelling, dialogue. I will say I appreciate that you avoided the "lesbian space witches" moniker because, even when its used by commentors that make legitimate points such as you make, it plays into the narrative Hollywood keeps trying to sell that all of us are "-ists and -phobes" which I certainly am not. The sexual orientarion of the witches is irrelevant. Does the fact they might be lesbian make for a nice insert, sure. In fact, the show does well here by not making their orientation the most important aspect of their "personality" as a group. Anyway, I'm getting off topic… Lastly, I don't mean this to sound pedantic, but I think it is so important to have young, black women talking about this and making these arguments, since you are supposed to be the "target" audience for these kinds of shows. I, a GenX white male, am not, it seems. Except that Lucasfilm (and Disney overall) maybe don't realize that us old nerds were progressive long before it became popular. We are not Boomers. So, I love to see representation in media. What I don't like is bad storytelling, anemic character arcs and motivations, poor narrative and dialogue. For that matter, the cinema-side of this show is also poor in terms of editing, blocking, etc. (a point which I think you mention). Another KZitemr "Snarky Jay" made a great video the other day which discusses the "message" push from Hollywood well: we have no problem with doing this, and in fact scifi and fantasy have been doing this pretty well over the years in termsnof representation. Granted, most was centered on race and gender since those were the bigger issues then, but they already did those things. For some reason Disney thought it needed to be done. I would argue they should just stop adapting fairy tales from European source material (which, to be fair they did with Aladdin and Moana). Anyway, I hope you get my point! Cheers! Oh, and subbed 😊

I completely agree. I absolutely love this comment. Probably one of my favs, but the all around support for this video has been almost overwhelming. Like, now I actually get when people say that lol. But I’m beyond grateful. I’ve always been on the fence on representation, obviously yes, but sometimes it’s used to disguise a greater issue and I have problems with that. I’ve never had problems with sci-fi or fantasy making strides in this. If it’s done well and not made as a selling point. One of the biggest reasons I made this video because we have--I hate to even phrase it like this-a lot of my white counterparts in the community making videos on this with those kinds of jokes in their criticism, and though their points are funny and easily explained. The media, fans, and show runners watching will not accept that. They get lumped into those toxic categories and disregarded from truths that can be found and are instantly turned off. The same point can be made on the opposite side of these views. I had that issue with my Dune video, which I guess wasn’t made for me, so people felt a specific type of way. We live in a world where everyone will take you at your word, analyze those actions behind it, and will slap a label on you instantly. You just have to be careful unless you fully accept it. As the target audience for the show, I think people will feel more comfortable acknowledging those critiques from a person like me without labeling people a -phobe or -cist of some type. I wanted to create a balance of fair criticism, keep the convo open to people that love and hate the show --regardless of how I feel, and still have fun with it at the end of the day without bashing the actors and their social standing. I hardly acknowledge Amandla till the very end and make a point of disagreeing with it then moving on. Again thanks for sticking around, can’t wait for you to see what I have in store.

i mean, thing is, well i agree with you on the matter of other commentators, from the interviews i've seen from leslye headland the director and driving creative force of the acolyte, the queerness of the space witches is very much an intentional detail. leslye identifies as a queer woman/lesbian and like a lot of queer people she had a rough childhood after coming out and receiving rejection/hatred from her biological parents about her orientation, her family has a christian denomination religious background, pretty much all the hallmarks of the tragic/sad queer history especially for a woman of her age. in that sense I would aruge the queer nature of the space witches is very much a feature as opposed to a bug, if not essential to the perspective headland is trying to convey. its the injection of the queer experience/history into the heart of the story through literally just plopping a lesbian witches coven into the heart of the narrative [a popular fantasy of queer woman is the idea of the witches coven] only putting it into space this time. and that resonates into every other aspect of the story telling, the jedi being a weird mix of space cops and catholic gaslighters in the acolyte despite how much that flies in the face of previous storytelling within the universe, osha killing sol being this weirdly triumphant moment because its metaphorical for headland defeating the shadow of her parents/father, etc. etc. so yeah, i'd say queerness isn't just incidental to the acolyte its very much intentional. I think the problem though, is that 1] headland admits that she projects that queerness onto the sith quite intensely and is very heavily biased towards them *cough*causeshesaKOTORfanficauthor*cough* and in a series that trades itself based on how it colour coded the good guys and the bad guys for conveniences sake, its probably not a good idea to the long term health of the setting to completely undermine that very core tenant by saying the bad guys are actually the good guys (or at the very least, it needs a certain finesse and expertise at writing that the acolyte lacks) 2] shes just kinda bad at conveying the queer experience. like, its clear that her experience as a rich white lady who worked for harvy weinstein is very heavily interfering with whatever queer experience shes trying to convey here, so even before ya get the meddling hands of corporate hollywood involved its just kinda muddled and flawed from the get go in whatever shes trying to do.

Humans fundamentally love to be right no matter what. Hearing anything outside of that requires that idea to be a little untrue, some aren’t willing to give that up. I’m glad I could help against that point, it’s used in such poor taste. There’s some people in the comments where we came out of the show different, and we have a conversation about it without this retort. The requirement to liking a show comes down to race for some people rather than a good storyline that makes people proud of that representation (regardless of the person). It blows my mind.

Thought is bad, only appearances matter! Critique is bad, look a black/yellow/rainbow/whatever the hell green with stripes person is there and if you don't like it your evil. There really isn't much more to it that I can see? Sure some competent actor or actress may give their all or they can hit the right notes by instinct and copying a few times but this is just as shallow and venal a product as the creators. There is no LOVE in their making or the creators hearts and it shows. Whereas there seems to be a great deal in your videos, given the effort and honesty.

I don't have a clear opinion about this show. Since its announcement, after watching Jodie Turner Smith accusing the original trilogy of being patriarchal, Leslie Headland speaking and other stuff, I expected The Acolyte to become nothing more than the ultimate source material for parodies. And indeed I am having s lot of fun watching content creators smashing and thrashing it.

The content for this has been amazing and my favorite content creators within the community have been having more fun with this than I've seen with anything else in past couple of years.

Bold of you to assume "we" survived The Acolyte together. I've not watched anything Disney Star Wars or Marvel since 2022.

Again, I think we’re focusing too much on the title. It’s just a call to action to the people that may agree with my points, if you’re a stray, you’re welcome too! Now, you have more reason to reaffirm your decision.

@@thereforeiyam I understood your intent. I meant it as a joke, but, as you may have noticed, I'm as funny as C3-PO. LOL On a more positive note, I've added this video to my "Watch Later", so I'll be back.

My cue was 'cheap cosplay'... the first time I really noted an eyesore was in Attack of the Clones in the arena. The way these background Jedi stumble through the greenscreen in Halloween costumes swinging left and right is really... not great. Speaking of which, my pet peeve is that the Prequels establish that Uncle Owen's desert garb is now official Jedi attire: Everybody on Tattooine was wearing the same stuff because dust and desert, even the Sand People. But when Episode One introduces Obi Wan and Qui Gon it is established that they are wearing that stuff because old Old was wearing it too - not because he was sitting in the desert for 18 years, no apparently he was in uniform all the time. Some of these decisions are mindbogglingly stupid. 😬 Cheers!

The appearance just comes off a corny or crusty....there's never a happy place lol. I will say, if I had to choose, I would get Prequels outfits. The Acolyte outfits look like true Halloween Store costumes, SUPER bright and weird colors for no reason.

I kind of hate that it is bad. Like i can see the ideas the writters were going for and i think i could have been interesting. Like yeah the politicians argument against the Jedi was valid, and the idea of a person killing a Jedi with hand to hand combat is really cool. But there was horrible execution

that's what's so frustrating. So many glimmers of nuance, but so many stupid choices. I think they need to understand that fans are not all just some brain rotted people that are only happy consuming the same things over and over. We want new storylines, NEW BLOOD. They still must respect the previous works and paths before it (should they try to mention it) by enhancing the principles --- not rewriting it, needlessly. It's like they don't know how to do that.

I survived by not watching. I had to save myself by bailing at the Obi-Wan series. My friend wanted to watch the Ashoka series, so I watched with him, but otherwise I wouldn't have been able to stomach it (spoilers: it's horrible). Other than Andor and some of the Mandalorian, the only good Star Wars these days is animated Star Wars. For anyone new to the series, watch the Clone Wars series, all seven seasons, and the following animated series. You really can't go wrong with those.
@thereforeiyam

Andor, Rebels, and Mandalorian I attempted to watch, I never really got into since it was such a different entity, that and Disney has burned me too many times. I'm open to trying it again though. Obi-Wan series was the biggest disappointment I've ever seen. The animated series they've produced clearly keeps the lights on, which I'm more than happy sticking with, they've been AMAZING.
@jimmyboy131

@@thereforeiyam Yep the animated is the only new Star Wars worth watching. Rebels was overall a good series, not as good as Clone Wars, but it was decent. I'm assuming you've seen the Clone Wars series? If not, it's among the best Star Wars there is, period. Anakin from that series is actually a good character, unlike the prequel version.

You're good at this and could become a more popular review channel, if that's a thing you want to do. I'll sub and see what else you get up to. It was odd to see the Sith guy be cool, calm, and collected, and the Jedi being over emotional. Total reversal.

I can't wait to keep you posted! Definitely the plan and trying to get my process for these videos down. I understand that all manner of absolutes lead to darker paths on either side, but I feel like the filp is so drastic, especially considering the time period this happens, it's not the best execution.

Also... the Movies are still Canon, right? The Clone wars and Rebels still portray the Jedi as heroes... how is this gonna play out? Also also... He uses the helmet to disable lightsabers... and NEVER DOES IT AGAIN
@thereforeiyam
2 ай бұрын
Yeah, no other time during his fight with Sol is he thinking....I should headbutt this. He seemed like he was trying to pull his lightsaber toward him, but I guess that was going to disable both? Funny how they're only depicted as heroes overall during times of war....but in the renaissance of the Jedi....they are the absolute worst. Movie are....somewhat canon. Whatever we can decipher that's left. I gotta brush up on my films. All I know is, Yoda is just more of a butt-munch and Anakin's creation is less special.

@@godkingsosa6811 Nope, definitely watching the same thing. Just different point of views. Look up the clip of the fight. At around 2:39.... which is what you're talking about....he had the lightsaber so close to his face, the man couldn't just....lean in? Even goes further into holding Sols hand, without his own weapon getting in the way, JUST to put his lightsaber against it. I made a point to agree, but also play devil advocate at maybe Qimir was trying to headbutt it, but needed a better advantage to get closer to his blade without disabling his own. Listen, if you feel like the show checked off some boxes for you, you're free to make your own points and I'm happy to hear them. I will always have my own bias because we see things differently. But, I think you'll find that I don't bash anyone or support anyone bashing people that like the show. Anyone is free to say what they want about it, my response is optional.
