If you use the 2nd option( import/export), will the calendars continue to be synced up moving into the future?
@BCIGWS
Жыл бұрын
Import/Export is typically to the Calendar, not the Calendar entries. Using Import & Export should not interfere with calendar sync setups. Deleting calendars or Google Accounts will disrupt Sync processes.

Hey there! I'm not sure if this falls into this video, but I hope you can help me out. I am about to build and launch two small businesses. I am currently planning on purchasing google workspace for both of them so I can get business emails with the two domains I have created. (I do need two google workspace purchases, correct?). Both businesses will require scheduling meetings, consultations, seminars, etc. Can merging the calendars "block off" times that are filled by the each of the calendars? For example, Business A has a consultation scheduled at 10am. Will the scheduling tool for Business B have 10am unavailable as well? Thank you!
@BCIGWS

You may not need two Google Workspace accounts, rather 1 acount and 2 email addresses. Either way, you can use a scheduling tool like Calendly to check for conflicts on 2 calendars (Google Accounts). I am happy to share ideas if you want to schedule a call one day.

Hi, I have a question regarding this content. After importing one calendar to another, it turned out that it fuses color tagging. Is there any way I can change color tagging from one event to another for me to avoid confusion?
@BCIGWS
29 күн бұрын
I do not know if there is a way to change the coloring in a bulk action. However, you can change the event color individually. Also, if you are overlaying one calendar on another (sharing calendars) they should be in a different color. All of mine are. Plus, you can change the color of entries in calendars shared with you as well.

So if you utilize the import function, does it only import past events or will it import future events or if I ADD a new event it will show in the one calendar?
@BCIGWS

Importing calendars will import all of the events from that calendar, prior and future. It will not however sync any new events you add after the import is done.

Question for you, I currently have Gsuite, but I am no longer going to have the paid G suite with that specific email. So I need to make sure that my calendar from that G suite is transferred to my new regular gmail email, how do I do that, to make sure that its not lost when the Gsuite drops off after my subscription runs out.
@BCIGWS

You will want to do some research before you close the GSuite account. The best answer I have right now - export out your GSuite calendar and then import it into your new Gmail account calendar.

Hi! I have a question & am wondering if you could help me out with this. I am a university student and I use Google Calendar to organize my schedule entirely. I currently have 10 calendars, 7 of which are individual calendars for each of my individual courses. With this, I am wanting to share all of these with someone so that they can see when I am available, as well as add their own events so we both can see our availabilities to plan time together. Is there a way to combine all of my calendars into one, so that when I share it, all 10 calendars are visible to them? I hope that made sense. Please help :,)
@BCIGWS
Ай бұрын
I do not know of a way to singularly share multiple calendars with another person. Here is an idea - collapse the calendars, maybe take the 7 individual course calendars and make them 1 using color coding for each course. This will reduce the burden ofmanaging multiple calendars. Additionally, have your friends put their own events on their calendar and share that calender with you. This can overlay your calendar(s) so you can they can see the collective activities and free times.

You didn’t answer the question I think many people would have. I have a work calendar that my colleagues use to find available times. However, I have multiple personal and part time freelance work accounts. I want any booked time on all other calendars to show up as busy in my work calendar, so that my colleagues do not double book me (which they do, all the time). How do I do that?
@BCIGWS
Жыл бұрын
I agree, this is an issue Michael. I have 3 Google Calendars and because I overlay them as I discussed in the video, this does not let either calendar look for conflicts across other calendars. I use Calendly and set it up to look across all 3 calendars for openings. I have not found a way to have a single Google Calendar look at other Google Calendars. A work around I used to do before Calendly was to invite my primary calendar (business email address) to my personal and volunteer calendars. Tedious extra step, but it did the job and I did not need to overlap calendars back then. Lets hope one day soon Google adds view calendars shared with us when entering in an event.

If you use the 2nd option( import/export), will the calendars continue to be synced up moving into the future? - this was asked before and it is still not clear. ScenarioA: If I subscribe (via their gmail address) to a calendar, say my local theater I'll only be able to view theater's calendar as a separate calendar (NOT 'overlaid' as you say) in a desktop web browser. ScenarioB: Theater invites me to a shared calendar and I accept it: I'm having more success overlaying the shared calendar to my main calendar (my goal!). ScenarioC I export/import a calendar - If calendar owner changes calendar will the changes be reflected in my import? And will this import be overlaid to my main calendar. Again, my goal, i want updated entries and I want them overlaid. Which is the best method IF the calendar i seek to add is not actually Shared with me. Thanks!
@BCIGWS

Let me take a 'stab' at answering these ideas: #1 - If you import a Google Calendar into another Google Calendar, that does not bring the syncing to the new calendar. #2 - Scenarion A - Subscribing to a Google Calendar is via your email address, not the owner's email address. #3 - Scenario B is the best option for viewing current and new calendar events. #4 - Again, if you export/import, this does not sync. It is simply a data dump. #5 - If the calendar is not shared with you, how could you see it? I don't see this being possible.

Thanks for the video. I still have a question and hopefully you can help. I have my business cal and my work cal. I have shared them with each other. Every thing looks good. They are overlaying each other. I have both calendars set up for clients to make their own bookings. My problem is that I’m getting double booked! If I merged the 2 together, how can I allow both accounts to share the same availability and recognize a booking from one another?

Overlaying works with a calendar to a Google Account. When you import calendar content you get to decide which of your calendar (under the same Google Account) you want to import the exported calendar.

Is there a way to really merge them? Lets suppose i manage multiple ventures from the same company, each one of them has its own Google Workspace i have an e-mail account in all of those and i want all of those events from those different ventures to show up in one single calendar, so that when people of one of the organizations would look up my name in the "Search for people" they would know if im busy or not wether im busy because of an event in companyA or B.
@BCIGWS
2 жыл бұрын
That may take some effort Paulo. If you are using multiple calendars, let alone calendars across multiple accounts, you would need to share all of those calendars with everyone you want to be able to check your availability. One alternative I have used is to always 'invite' my main Google Workspace account to all other events on other calendars/accounts. This way when someone looks at my main calendar they will see my free busy. However, this could be tedious if you have lots of people across different Google Workspaces you want ot see your free busy in their own calendar system. It would definitely require some testing to find the best practice. I don't have the ability to test at this level

Thank you for the interesting video! I have just discovered that I can see on my google work calendar all the events I have saved on my personal calendar (which I keep on my Samsung phone). Do you know if there is a way to separate them? I don't want my personal events to be visible on the work website. Probably my phone calendar was synced with the one from work since our administration implemented the 2way authentication process and, in order to get access to my gmail work account, I need to get a code via text message on my phone. Do you know how to separate them? Thank you in advance for your help.
@BCIGWS
2 жыл бұрын
If the calendar entries are all on 1 calendar, there is no way to separate them. You could restrict others from looking at your calendar, but that may not be what you want. I would make sure your personal calendar entries are on a different calendar (sub calendar or shared 2nd Google Account Calendar) and then overlay that calendar on your main calendar for only you to see. I can help you set this up if you want to schedule a session for me to help you. $$

@@m.zurlita3473 It's easier that than. I do not recommend using another app. Create a sub calendar in your Google Account Calendar and put all of your private events on there. Then you will be able to see it and no one else will. It's really easy to do and you can see both calendars on your PC/Mac and other devices that your Google Account is logged into.
