We were lying in bed one day
and I’m just sort of leaning on my elbows like this
and she’s there looking up at me and talking
and she just said “who are you?”. Ripped me apart. I’d walk through fire for that girl. Now I can’t do anything. That’s the hardest thing. I mean I just go in the room and let her talk. I haven’t a clue what she was saying. My expectations are gone you can’t expect her to do anything or respond. It is a day by day experience.
I pray for her everyday that she’ll have a real peace.
Loving someone with dementia is tough but those moments of love can make a difference. Jesus is also here to carry and love you too.
