Nice to see you Geoff. It was 10 years ago since you and Paul trained me in the SM/ASM principles in Holborn. I am still at it and still learning. Keep'em coming 😀

Great video! I watch a lot of KZitem “Scrum Masters” struggle with this answer because they’ve understanding of Agile is basement level. They talk about velocity, burn down charts etc. You completely nailed it. Great Job

Question Geoff, what will you as a scrum master do if team members are not interested in any events for inspect and adapt, but they are technically sound and deliver quality results. What would a scrum master should in that situation

I tend to be a Scrum Master who would hold the mirror up to the team and ask them whether they are reaching their potential and what they would like to experiment with in order to potentially improve even more. Perhaps ceremonies or events would help but I wouldn’t assume they would

Thanks for the video! The "giving psychological safety for self-inspection and adaptation" was the most valuable part for me. I have a suggestion for a video: How to answer the following question in an Agile interview: "How do you choose which PBL item to do next?" The answers can be so broad that I would like to know your opinion. Thanks!

I don't really understand the role of HR at this point, what the first point of recruitment is there for? I assume to implement the old good behavioural screening procedures...

I like the matter, but it is more on working philosophy, and that is important. if you could have some matrix that is actual measurement of the project progress like they have it in waterfall method (Cost performance index-CPI or Schedule performance Index-SPI) that can be presented to the steering committee of stakeholders as it is very difficult to sell the High moral story to them.

Thanks. I think an umbrella measurement is speed to learn which can be broken down into components: number of experiments, product metrics, scaling data collection to make decisions and so on. These are more on the quantifiable side. Then the best agile teams have senior people who are more coaches than delivery and this can be measured by more qualitative assessments of team competence and satisfaction.

Very interesting! Do you see that as fit for all agile-roles or rather for software developpers? Or would you say it fit exactly the same way to PO's?

Good question. I have already written about my thoughts on product owners’ characteristics in my book Product Mastery. I don’t think these characteristics just apply to software developers but rather self-organising teams of almost any discipline

Thanks, excellent video. Agree with everything. Is there a way to objectively quantify a team's progress in terms of kaizen, quality, unity, audacity, and delivery? Shouldn't there be an objective measurement or base? Without that, wouldn't a delusional team just pretend to be agile?

I find the best teams want to be great and continue to get better. They will look for examples where they are doing the right things and look for more opportunities to do these things. They will also look for situations where they don’t manage it, reflect and improve.
