I'm surprised you didn't melt the two pots together.... Start keeping the screw on tops off the plastic soda/pop bottles. They are made of a safe durable plastic you can melt in the oven into flat sheets. perhaps use that to line the inside of the pot. That forest is fabulous! Great video Jelle!

It got quite a natural setting in the new pot. Really a wonderful forest valley.

Great video and good work repairing the pot. I think the back is a better "front" when you spun it round at the end of the video 👍

Why do you feel the other side is better as front?
@Mr10russ10
7 ай бұрын
Your front has a very deep and empty foreground and as you said the pot needs to be tilted to straighten the large tree in the centre. @12:20 to me, this looks better more fuller, better foreground and you can see the smaller trees added plus the trees look straight without tilting the pot.

Hi Joelle, thank you for this video, this is a beautiful forest composition 👌 Would you consider changing the front side to this forest? I think it looks better from the back side now that there are no leaves! I understand though that the front side will be just correct when there will be leaves.

Nice job, nice forest. You can fix this pot with fiberglass, epoxy and put some sand on the wet epoxy for the texture.

Hi Kenneth, the melting worked a charm too. Just lacked material to keep it in the original shape!

It looks like you need to "do a Nigel" and have a go at making your own pot - ceramic would probably last longer then plastic . . . although he has the advantage of retirement allowing time!! This is a lovely little forest.

Great forest/grouping. 👍. See that your ability in finding a suitable slab to fit the forest was not successful. I think many of us are finding the selections and availability of bonsai slabs is very limited, not to mention their rise in prices. Hoping your repairs on original slab give it new life for many years to come. Thanks for showing and sharing your repot experiences.

I really enjoyed watching this Jelle - especially with your pot repairs. I have two x three group forests and a five tree forest that I ned to put together. The needles are just starting to oepn on a few of the branches... At least 7 of these trees are over 20 years old :)

Thanks Jelle I repair broken branches with electric adhesive tape, as I use it for grafting too...I thought ir a grafting insulated with that, works, repairing a branch should do too, and it did so far in any conditions...it may happen that the scar grows too big...but that will be only in the main trunc or in main branches

@GrowingBonsai I think it is very ugly, and the way sides bend up spoil the flow. Sorry xx
