Thanks for this information. The MULLER MANEUVER, which is trying to INHALE rather than PUSH against a blocked airway (the Valsalva maneuver), works far better for me. Over 40 years and many SVT episodes, I used to always try the Valsalva maneuver and it often didn't work - I had to go to the ER several times and get Adenosine. But several years ago I discovered the Muller maneuver and it works every time (sometimes I have to do it more than once). It's a weird feeling to lower your intrathoracic pressure, but it's worth the discomfort. Hope this helps someone!

Hey, how many times did it happen?how long have you been suffering from svt? I recently diagnosed with svt. It happend 3 times in 1 month. First time it happend I didn't know what is wrong. Second time It happend I just call 911. Then I did research I found few tips. Third time valsava maneuver helped me, I tried everything even coughing, deep breathing. It worked. I am in this situation where I dont know what should I do. Should I wait or consider ablation?

@@KatarinaS. hey, I am taking classical homeopathy. The medicine I am taking does not have any name. In my first visit doctor asked me my health history every thing that is going in my life, my stress level etc and then she gave me the medicine. It's been 8 months I am taking medicine and I haven't had any episode. I am suffering from hypothyroidism also. I am taking for both conditions.

I've had this since I was a kid. Like 8 years old or so I remember getting it in gym class and the idiot gym teacher thought I was full of shit when I said my heart was beating too fast. I'm 37 now. I still have it. There were times where I wouldn't get an episode for a year or so. But lately I've had a few in a week. I'm considering getting medication or the abilation thing but I really want to avoid that. What's worked for me to stop it is as soon as it starts I sort of get into a squatting position, take a deep breath and tense up all my core muscles... not just bearing down but I try to tighten all the lower abdominal muscles at once. This usually stops it pretty quick. Sometimes I've been forced to tolerate it for 10 mins or so. Does it cause any long term damage? My blood work is good otherwise

Rogue agent. Get an ablation! I had it since I was a child. All these maneuvers stopped working for me. I had sooo many ER visits it disrupted my life. I went to UCSF and had it done by the BEST, DR. Melvin Scheinman. He invented electrophysiology! Go for it!!!
