A big shout out to you for taking time to do this special video I requested! You are the man! Both cars are great cars.. however, the Honda Accord looks and feels more sophisticated, mostly with the Accord interior. When you test drive the Accord 2.0 Turbo, it's fun , It's solid and well put together and I really like the push shifter. The Camry seats look cool in red but they're not as comfortable as the Accord seats. The styling of the Camry looks nice .. for me the interior is not my cup of tea at all. I saw another video with both cars on a race track and the Accord won even with lower horse power.. that's were the torque on the Accord comes to play. Again, both cars are very good cars. In my own opinion, the Accord is more spacious, solid, sophisticated and feels more luxurious. I wonder if Honda will ever add a panoramic roof and a possible dual exhaust. For me, the Accord wins!! Thanks for answering my request, Happy Holidays!

I test drove a 2018 Camry XLE V6 and 2018 Accord EX-L 2.0T while car shopping. Both are CPO, and the Camry has 75K miles while the Accord has 36K miles. The Camry was selling for around $29,000, the Accord $27,000. I was really impressed with the Carmy from the outside. It's a big car with presence. The Camry XLE V6 is the best looking Camry IMO. The ride was more rigid in the Camry. Very quick to respond to throttle and steering inputs. The Camry felt like a racecar with its firmness and firebreather V6 .But the 8 speed transmission was too fussy. Constantly shifting at the slightest input or road grade. The interior is interesting. The left and right stalks felt very cheap where you would put your fingers while using them. The seats were not comfortable. They felt supportive at first, but after ten minutes, they felt hard. The infotainment was nothing I would want to have to experience again. I bought the Accord because it feels like my old LS 400. The Accord is the exact opposite of the Camry in many ways.

I need to comment on the push button shifter in the Accord. I have trouble moving between cars with a dash mounted vs center console shifters and thought the Accord push button was going to be a nightmare to get used to. I haven't reached for a shifter once on it yet and love the open space across the center console. It's so clean compared to a shift knob, full free access to the front center console.

My last 5 cars were Accords, but I really dislike the 10th gen Accord. I really hate a push button shifter. I don't like turbo 4's. Even with more torque on a turbo 4, I'll still take a V6 over it. I can't stand the fastback look on 4-door cars like Honda did here. Seriously, what's up with the stupid crab claws taillight?! Another thing I really hate is the tablet look infotainment system, especially when it sits higher than the dashboard like in the Accord. Honda needs to return the Double Wishbone suspension to the Accord (removed from 9th and 10th gens), and yes you do feel the difference. Here's what I like: more cargo room, better quality fit and finish, overall looks modern, decent user interface infotainment software, cool headlights styling. Now the things I like/don't like about the Camry. It's boring looking. It has "an appliance" feel to it. The front is quite ugly. I like the red seats, panaromic sunroof, V6, sits higher, two tone colors, smooth transmission Honestly, neither cars is doing it for me, I think I'll stick with my V6 9th gen Accord for a long time...

It may also develop problems over the long term. Lots of moving parts. This car is perfect for me, except, why isn't there a handle inside the trunk to close it? There is even a little hollow out of the trunk lid liner to accommodate a handle. How do you like the ride quality on 19 inch rims? Also, are the cooled seats any good? The cooled seats is the only feature I miss. Wouldn't we love to have heated steering wheel? Heated rear seats and two USB ports for rear passengers would go a long way more than extra glass. I don't think of the 2.0T as fast, but as having torque for days. The engine never feels stressed. That's luxury.

The Camry, while pricier, does offer more features to justify the premium. I also wish Accord offered more interior color choices, as the Camry's red leather is a great addition. But one primary element not covered in this kind of features comparison is the driving experience. I haven't driven the Camry, but I have read many reviews online and in magazines. While the Camry's handling was significantly improved a couple of years ago, and is secure with a smidge of fun, every review I have seen lauds the Accord as the superior performer both, slightly, in acceleration, and more noticeably in handling over the Camry. The Camry is about as reliable as you can get, so Honda holds no edge in that department. As for styling, Toyota's design studio still seems stuck on adding doo-dads and slapped on styling cues, including that rear spoiler and those silly diagonal slashes beneath the tail lamps. The front end is far too busy and disjointed. While the Accord styling may not be everybody's favorite (especially compared to the Mazda 6), it has a far more integrated look in the front. No, "you can't go wrong" with the Camry. But when it comes to driving pleasure, every reviewer has raves for the Accord, which can't be said for the Camry. Despite the V6 oomph, Honda's turbo and 10 speed auto outdoes the Camry in 0-60 and general acceleration, and the Accord holds flatter on curves, according to the mags. Car and Driver may or may not be an auto bible, but the Accord has been chosen as a Ten Best Car 35 times...no other vehicle even comes close. I miss my earlier Accords' V6 for sound, but this is my 2nd 2.0 Turbo 4 w/10 speed in a row...and it's a blast of a drivetrain!

@@donpaulweatherpluspaul2670 Don’t get me wrong. I don’t hate the accord or honda in general. I actually love the HRV, the fit, and the non turbocharged CRV or non turbo civics The only reason I choose the Camry over the accord is because of the NA v6. The 2017 accord touring v6 was one of my favorite sedans. If that were the 2020 model I’d choose it easily. But Since they went turbo I’ve become concerned for long term reliability of the turbo now.

@@naveenthemachine Well, I miss the sound of my previous V6 Accords, true enough. And the 6 speed auto wasn't bad in the least. But the 2.0, from what I've read, is not showing signs of turbo problems. I'm into my 2nd 2.0 (had a 2018 EX-L, got out of my lease a year early to get a "leftover" 2020 Touring edition), and the drivetrain is a complete blast. But so was the V6. Car & Driver says the powertrain I have now is a smidge faster than the V6, and slightly more economical. The 10 speed is mostly wonderful and, as you'd expect, incredibly flexible. Took a tight exit ramp this morning, and the car remained flat as a coffee table in Nebraska. Trivial sidebar: I didn't even know I had a 4 way adjustable lumbar support (upper/lower) until an hour ago, when I watched a Honda video. :)

I wonder about the engine longevity/reliability of a turbo charged engine vs normal gasoline aspirated engine. Love the accord but purchased a 2018 xse toyota camry because im more interested in longevity than performance.
@BlackWhiteBeast
3 жыл бұрын
You're right on the mark, Brad. Very intelligent choice you made. The naturally aspirated V6 in the Camry will last much longer than the overstrained 2.0 turbocharged engine in the Accord. This is why I also chose the V6 Camry over the Accord. Some of us keep these cars for a long time. Turbo cars are not reliable in the long haul.

@@BlackWhiteBeast Wrong! Honda has been making the 2.0 turbo engine for a very long time. Use a very simple variable intake turbo, it just sits there and sucks the air it just sits there opening and closing NOT spinning like a turbo, so it can last forever. It's a very simple design. The bigger the engine the more it can handle the Turbo charge.

I’ll give the edge to Toyota based on Reliability. Outside of that, Honda is by far the better performing car. Also has better sound system as well. Toyota’s sound system is weak unless it has JBL option. I’ve had my 2015 Toyota Camry for 5 years 170K NYC Uber Miles. Reliability beast for sure. But I’m looking forward to purchasing the Honda touring 2.0 Turbo to actually enjoy driving. Can’t wait.

I wouldn't be surprised if Toyota goes turbo. It's easier for Honda to get more performance put of the turbo than Toyota can with their v6. Unless Toyota doesn't mind being slower than the competition.
