Don't recall where Scripture talks about having a degree from seminary

Thank you brothers for these videos. The Lord has been preparing me for ministry in alignment with your mission. I have a question, why not just watch videos of sermons? Why would someone need to preach on a consistent basis. I understand if there's a word from the Lord or maybe dealing with a specific need, but it seems most of what I've seen is that a service usually involves people sitting around listening to one person talk. I think it would be better to listen to the viewpoints of many different teachers and other members of the church. It seems that it would prohibit one man from getting an inflated head. I also understand the need for practice but maybe it should be every so often. It seems to me that it would carry on what I feel is a problem perpetuated by the church over the years of making it all about a single man. Just seems self centered to me. Thoughts?

This is not organic house church!! No need for a seminary degree. Elder is just someone who is mature in the Lord and helps oversee.. not do it all. Oversee.. everyone in the gathering can take part with their gifts..

Hi Kimberly, you are correct. Early believers functioned as a Christian Ekklesia and not a church. In a Christian Ekklesia all members are equal and all members are encouraged and expected to participate. It's leaders were servant leaders who took no title in front of their name.

No one participating in a Christian Ekklesia had been to a seminary and they spread the gospel across the known world as a house group movement and spread largely by slaves.

I like your concept of doing a house church; however... [Acts 5:1-10 LSB] 1 But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, 2 and kept back [some] of the price for himself, with his wife's full knowledge. And bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back [some] of the price of the land? 4 "While it remained [unsold], did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your authority? Why is it that you laid this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." 5 And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard. 6 And the young men rose up and wrapped him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him. 7 Now there was an interval of about three hours, and his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And Peter responded to her, "Tell me whether you were paid this much for the land?" And she said, "Yes, that much." 9 Then Peter [said] to her, "Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out [as well]." 10 And immediately she fell at his feet and breathed her last, and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. My finances are between me, the IRS, unfortunately, and God. I was with you until you started bring up how you look at the finances of the possible leader. I believe we are being told that it is nobody's business but the owner and God right here: [Acts 5:4 LSB] 4 "While it remained [unsold], did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your authority? Why is it that you laid this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."

Hi Thomas, a Christian Ekklesia lived like acts2v42-47 and Acts4v32-37 and there is no new testament requirement for believers to give money other than to meet the needs of the Saints. The apostles had their needs met and Paul even worked to earn money as he didn't want to be a burden on the ekklesia. The early believers were structured as a Christian Ekklesia and not a church and both the unity and the agape love of the father demonstrated by early Christians was admired by the average non believer acts2v49.

Good news. It's pointless to try to make a house church to look like a standard church. Whenever you see the word church in the Bible it has been mis translated from the Greek word ekklesia. Very few understand what a Christian Ekklesia is and even less understand that a Christian Ekklesia is not a church. All Ekklesia were part of a political system that gets its business from its governing body where all members are equal and all members are encouraged and expected to participate. A Christian Ekklesia has a quorum of 2 or more (matt18v20) and is passionate about Christian unity and expressing the agape love of the father to one another (acts2v42-47 and Acts4v32-37 and 1 Cor1v10-13). It leaders are servant leaders with no title but are focused on building up others into their membership ministries (eph4). The early believers were structured geographicly as a Christian Ekklesia and it was only after the formation of the state church entwined in the world system in AD381 that the church system took off and something that the body of Christ still suffers from today. The next reformation that the Holy Spirit is wanting to do is the conversion of his people from a local church system to a local Christian Ekklesia. No more denominations seperating one part from another with almost all money given used to meet the needs of the Saints and not wasted on bank mortgages or building church brands etc.

It's the American way to overstructure and micromanage relationships, even in a small setting. I've been to other small assemblies in Europe and Mexico and the business-like management isn't there. I could actually breathe in them. Yes some Christians are a bit tidy but they go too far in structure and actually forget why Chriatians assemble in the first place.

Why do you require a seminary degree, when God does not? Try reading Acts 9... Paul after just a few days was preaching the Gospel in the Temple. This is what men do, create rules...rules that have no Biblical basis. Let's get back to the Bible.

Hi Nicholas perhaps I can answer your question.....The early believers were not structured as a church but as a Christian form of the Roman ekklesia in Jerusalem. Jesus gave us the numbers required for a quorum in matt18v21 when he said where 2 or more of mine gather in my name then there I am in the midst. All Christians have known for the last 1700 years is church so it requires revelation from the Holy Spirit to get our heads around how the early believers lived which was as a Christian Ekklesia and very different from any church. In short a house group dosent need to be 10-15 families.
