This was critical for me to draw a D&D map. Almost every other video was for electric turbines. Thank you!

Nice. I currently am in a D&D campaign & I am building a small settlement. We already have the basics down, farm land, animals, Log Cabins, a fence, watch tower, a well, but we didn't have a windmill let alone know how to make it and how it worked. This video actually answers a few questions and answered a few things I never even bothered to ask. I hope that the campaign you were in was good. If you can, can you tell me about it?

@@Ben-jl2rh Well, it's been four years, but as I recall it was a game of Curse of Strahd, which has some witches living in a windmill. I needed to know where in the tower the gears and millstone would be.

@@beefpelican That's pretty cool & unique. We are making a settlement in our campaign, and we thought that making grain & bread will be pretty useful for both food & trading. Our campaign is a survival/Zombie infection where most cities are fine, but the threat of Zombies is growing and its unknown why its happening because there are no Necromancers when an out break happens.

Excellent video!!! This is precisely what I was looking for! I’ve always wanted to know how they accomplished this before the advent of modern technology. This is fascinating! Thanks so much!!!

Great! It's so nice to see how inventive were (and are) such mechanical devices. By the way, Christiaan Huygens developed control principles applied in windmills (known as flyball governors) that were used, much later, by James Watt in steam machines.

How fast foes the wind need to be to get the mill to work at a decent pace I wonder? Or just to be able to work at all?

We still use windmills they are a very clean ways to generate electric that is poorly wasted by its users! We need to look after are resources and save what we can for the cold rainy days! Great video too thanks for making this video!
