Hearing damage: Listening to music or sound at high volumes for extended periods through headphones can lead to hearing damage or loss. The proximity of the sound source to the ears and the lack of external noise can cause people to increase the volume to potentially harmful levels.

This is true especially if you are a party person, and a gamer at the same time. All my 20's I partied a lot, and was a gamer. There are times when I stood right next to the Big speakers high on life and alcohol had 0 concern about one of the most important sensory organ of Human body. Being a gamer required me to put the headphones on high volume so I can hear the sound steps of my enemies, this gave me added advantage. However the sound of Weapons and explosions were similar to that of real war. Abused my hearing for 10+ years straight. I am 34 now, and have Tinnitus (ringing in the ear 24/7). Trust me you do not want that to happen let alone, any hearing issue. My humble request is to wear hearing protection whenever you are exposed to loud music for long duration of time. If you are a gamer, wear a silicon hearing protection while your Headphones is at max. you will not regret it. The most high end camera and speakers go faulty after few years of use. Remember your Eye's ears should last for your entire lifespan. Take care.

If the perceived loudness is the same at both (earphone's and speaker's )distances, it means that the sound source is adjusted to produce the same sound level (measured in decibels) regardless of the listener's distance. In this scenario, the sound intensity reaching the ears would be equivalent, and the potential impact on hearing would be similar. Perceived loudness is a subjective measure and can vary between individuals. It is influenced not only by the sound intensity but also by other factors like the frequency content of the sound and individual hearing sensitivities. Some people might perceive a sound as louder than others at the same sound level. In situations where the perceived loudness is the same, the risk to your hearing would not be dependent on the distance from the sound source. Instead, it would be primarily determined by the actual sound level (in dB) itself and the duration of exposure. Remember that prolonged exposure to sounds above 85 dB (% doesn't make sense here. Different earphones or speakers have different sensitivities which leads to different loudness levels at x% volume )can lead to hearing damage over time, regardless of the distance from the sound source. It's crucial to protect your hearing by reducing the volume when possible, using hearing protection in noisy environments, and taking breaks to give your ears time to rest. Edit:- if possible keep your listening volume levels under 60-70 decibels.

Bro I can't measure DB in my ear phones. Prolonged use makes you perceive the sound to be lower than it is. Slowly but surely many people will start to listen in their ear phones and headphones in high volume. Plus I heard you can't recover form hearing loss or any mild damage to your hearing??? Is it true?

@@basantatamang2249 Yes, we don't have rigs to measure it, but you can compare and match it to the typical loudness of a normal conversation, which is around 60 dB. I have an AudioQuest DragonFly Black with Dunu Titan S, and at 60 percent of volume, it's painfully loud, so I reduced my preamp gain to match the loudness of a normal conversation at full volume. Now, I know my ears are safe to enjoy music for a longer duration. And yes if the hearing loss is sensorineural (caused by damaged hair cells or the auditory nerve) then it's permanent but if it is conductive then it's treatable.
