You cannot possibly think this absolute waste of time and resources will do anything good for Egypt. This city is to exist only to house the people in power, and that is it. Ordinary people will not be living here. The whole project is a colossal waste in a part of the world where that's an absolutely insane proposal. You cannot just build these huge, wasteful cities in the DESERT Absolutely disgusting, revolting project. There are MILLIONS of people in poverty and slums in Egypt. MILLIONS. They will see NOTHING from this. NOTHING. If anything their lives will get worse because resources are pulled to this fucking batshit project

The new city has it's own budget, which came from selling some spaces in the same city to real-estate companies 😅 🇪🇬EGYPT debt $165B (313% Currency Crash in 10 years) 🇹🇷TURKEY debt $475B (1222% currency crash in 10 years) In 2023, Irdogan 🇹🇷 took the same way to build a new city with debt. He is asking for $35B from the Int. Bank 🏦

I have to agree Forbes has recently invested in a new international tower in the new capital of Egypt the first of their kind and will bring the reputability to the project encouraging massive investments from the world's richest. Only time will tell but the future looks ambitious

Government megaprojects have been a defining feature of Egypt for at least six millennia. This will continue that tradition. Hopefully it will be built as durably.

When this city is complete I want to see which Egyptians will be permitted to live there , and where the lower class will be living . How much low cost housing will there be , nice new houses and apartments , just for those who can afford it . No slums , no homeless , no poor . What a miracle .

Is the town up and running yet? I will be in egypt for a few days in september and would love to stay there... looks absolutely amazing... is anyone lliving there yet? Also... are you sure that whole octagon thing cost 123 million dollars? Either costs over there are really really cheap or you may be missing some zeros

Yes, you can definitely visit it, but it’s partially running as most of the facilities are still under construction. They’ve moved most of the administrative buildings and ministries to it tho

Yeah, I also thought $123 million seemed low for such large buildings. Maybe that's per building, so $1.2 billion for the complex? That makes more sense.

This Will just Bring Profits to Chinese Investors and Investors from the Arab peninsula And take Money from ordinary Egyptians, because they will be just tenants there. Government is wasting public Money there instead of improving the quality and sustainability of Life in Cairo.Government does Not need more buildings, it needs less because of digitalisation and homeoffices. Building New capital never improves the Economy of a country.offices And shopping Malls Have no added value and do not contribute to a Progress or development of a country.

Whilst its citizens starve, are forcibly removed from their homes to make way for more highway and bridges with no room for protest, the country faces a debt crisis and is selling of its assets to the Gulf. I feel sorry for the citizens of Egypt who live under this Pharaoh.

I believe Egypt's infrastructure was well in need of an update as most of the infrastructure was from the past century and older, I believe Egypt has got the potential to overcome and will soon show its true potential. In terms of investment Egypt is attracting massive investments from the gulf on the one side this may look like gulf influence of Egypt however massive foreign investments spurs growth and GDP for any country and leads to more investors worldwide investing. 20% of London's real estate for example is owned by the Qatar state.. and look how successful and large London is. I believe Egypt is on a bumpy path right now but no doubt will soon become a major global superpower and economic powerhouse

Hahahaha, this is the talk of the Brotherhood, the terrorist group. It's all talk that has nothing to do with reality. The capital project is funded with the water of 30 other new cities, in addition to the taxes that the state gets from the project, in which half a million Egyptians work. I mean, 2 million Egyptians eat directly from it and support 100 industries related to construction and construction. The Capital Company has reserves in banks worth 100 billion pounds and built governmental buildings for 200 billion pounds. It will make the state able to invest 150 billion pounds in old government buildings in Cairo in investment projects. Other than that the city will enter the Ministry of Housing revenues and gains worth one trillion and three ten trillion pounds as a result of investing the surrounding lands Surrounding the first stage only and with investors, the same thing with the rest of the lies in your words

The capital costs for this project are already bankrupting the Egyptian economy. What the leaders of Egypt have forgotten are the insane operating costs. Egypt will never be able to acquire the money to maintain this absurd vanity project, which means that the capital will slowly crumble and empty over the next few decades.

Thanks for the comment! I think Egypt's new capital will bring in prosperity for the country seen by the huge investments it has been able to bring in, for example Forbes has announced its first ever international tower in the new capital. This is a very encouraging sign and is only one example. By having the approval of forbes it will attract massive investments from wealthy individuals and businesses seeing further investments pour into the country and city. The new capital of Egypt no less will become a huge hub for business and exchange in Africa and the Middle East. The signs are promising, yes its been rough for Egypt recently but so for the whole global climate. Egypts positive steps are encouraging.
