I wish I knew this during my childhood and teenage years. My mother’s constant lack of accountability was so confusing to my young mind. I often felt anger, guilt and I began to doubt myself. I also became aware early on that my mother was not to be trusted.

This is helping me understand tremendously. My new statements in return, “ I feel differently or I see this differently.” Calm delivery and great outcome. Bless you !

Interesting that they’ll lose a relationship (mother/daughter) in their need to lie to feel good about themselves. Not having the relationship doesn’t make them feel bad? Strange.

I appreciate the clear explanation of something rather complicated. Is there a difference between emotional immaturity and emotional disregulation? And also narcissism?
