When was there NEVER any politics in sports? Anywhere you find people and money, you will find politics. It used to be conservative politics that ruled, when owners kept Blacks out of their leagues. As Black folks started to gain prestige and power, they started to speak up. I remember when prominent Black athletes of the day---Bill Russell, Jim Brown, Lew Alcindor (now Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Carl Stokes, Walter Beach, Bobby Mitchell, Sid Williams, Curtis McClinton, Willie Davis, Jim Shorter, and John Wooten--all showed up in Cleveland to support Muhammad Ali in his decision to refuse induction to the Army, and to fight in the Vietnam War. There has always been politics in sports. White folks just don't like to see Black guys standing up for themselves...

Thank God I get to choose what I watch on tv, and I choose not to watch any of the ESPN family of channels. The truth is I'm tired of the PC....everybody gets a trophy.... liberal views in ALL of the sports coverage. I got tired of watching shows that wear more about a hard left political agenda than about covering sports. Outside of watching a college football game I never even think about turning to ESPN. What's sad, I'm an Athletic Trainer so sports is my life. I use to watch Sports Center every afternoon until the network turned all libatard and forced politics into all their coverage. Sports use to be the one thing free of politics and ESPN ruined that.

Our family of four have completely stopped watching sports. I played sport in school, both my sons played sports in school. ESPN is not even on the conversation for us. We have completely abandoned sports like Football, Basketball, Soccer and even NasCar. We shoot guns now, do archery, purchased 5 acres in the country. We joined a sailing club and purchased a sailboat. When the kids have their families, I seriously doubt the third generation will even be introduced to ESPN or the athletic sports we used to be into. The things our family does now, allows us to be exposed to the version of Life, Liberty and Happiness that we prefer. ESPN is not converting people to liberalism, they are driving families away from the sports they cover and also their channel. If you were to check the voting rolls here in Florida, you would see that our family of four did not vote in the last two elections. I used to be a democrat, until Bill Clinton. The man's actions and lies turned my stomach. I am 50 and am now registered, "No Party Affiliate". The democrat party and liberals are like mold, I can't wait for history to wash them away.

Fla-bushcraft Prepper I like Hurling . Have you ever heard of that sport ? Played mainly in Ireland, it's roots go back before recorded history . The players don't have their name on their jersey , only the number of their position , which is between 1 and 15 . Also known as the fastest sport on grass , it's probably the purest sport played today . The players aren't awarded anywhere the money of other professional athletes. Their greatest reward is the play of the game itself . The size of the pitch , the sheer athleticism , the speed , skill and stamina required to be a hurler are astounding! The average hurler can leave just about any basketball player sucking wind !

I think in their pea-brained tunnel vision they think it is a win-win for their side and their way of thinking. Either they get to blather their oh so precious message via propaganda to a mostly captive audience or they weaken an institution they see as a bulwark of conservative thought and action. These morons have institutionalized an Alinskian destructive mode, and there's nothing more stupid than that in today's world, save for the motherlode of bad ideas that is Mohammedanism, called for publicity purposes"islam".

kuman30 Kaepernick was accused by his then girl of trafficking her out to two of his buds, in Miami, in 2014. Using the #meetoo strict liability standard of proof, he should be wholly discredited, right? As best I know NFL nor ESPN has done one minute of investigation. I think the official word was that she was just another crazy woman...a standard canard for dismissing such claims used by male supremacists since the dawn of time. Where is she now? Has she been paid a settlement?? Has she been otherwise silenced? No one knows....

Yes. Us Buckeye fans saw the corruption of EsPiN firsthand when they had "journalists" camping out in Columbus trying looking for "free cars" for players. They also consistently manipulated their headlines to shed negative light on Osu on their website. They HATED that Osu is a national power in the midwest, and they HATED Jim Tressel because he is a conservative Christian. They finally took him down in 2009 over some "tattoos." I had already started hating ESPIN around 2007 when they shoved SECheat football up college football fans asses.
