As a Canadian I have no idea how we were able to grab such a large amount of land uncontested lol

You guys did contest it from the French also... And won. And also France didn't give a damn anyways (they preferred small tropical islands that made sugar).

@@boptillyouflop Canada didn't contest the French for Canada, the original French colonizers that established New France (Now the American east coast)have been pushed back by the South American natives and settled for northern territories when the United States started to become a proper country. Canada is basically a remnant of British and French alliance in national form. If you doubt Canadians ever being down south, remember, we burnt down the first White House, we whitewashed the northern natives and we still have a large portion of responsibility for the newer liberal policies being implemented by democrats in the USA. TL:DR, canada is basically the USA if they never had a civil war. Although Quebec is secessionist, we aint letting them split because they were the whole reason Canada exists in the first place. Canned Maple Syrup, New French, Tim Hortons, Bagged Milk, Plastic Dollar Bills, and last but not least, FREE HEALTHCARE (although though the quality of that care has been diminishing greatly for the last 10 years)

lmao being French pretty much nullifies the canada problem since if signs are in french but in the uncanny valley then it's Canada

The license plates and the traffic signs should at least help with the country side of things when dealing with French signage. ReMax is a Canadian realtor.

I love the fact that if you choose the wrong side of France, one of the biggest countries in Europe, you still get a couple thousand points, but if you choose the wrong side of Canada you get 2.

1. Pretty generic, but a good way to tell apart American vs Canadian suburbs is looking for mailboxes (Canada post ones are pretty distinctive), or any flags nearby. 2. There are a lot of countries that speak French other than France. Even if you limit yourself to temperate areas it could also be Switzerland, Belgium, or St Pierre et Miquelon. The signs and infrastructure in this area look more North American than European to me but honestly I’d just say to look around more. 3. Mountainous + pines generally indicate west coast over east coast. Then again I’m from BC so this is easy for me. 4. More deciduous trees leans towards east coast or maybe Southern Ontario by the lake. 5. Signs are European style. (Black and white + round signs + blue “P” sign) + cobblestones are more common in Europe (although older parts of Montreal or Quebec City might have some)

0:23 wtf this is literally right next to my hometown. I knew exactly where it was as soon as it popped up. It's such a weird feeling to watch someone else just be so clueless about it and make a guess so wrong while you're there screaming at the video "C'ta Price tabarnakkkk" since I've been at this exact location irl.

West coast and East coast have different landscape (West coast is mountainous, East coast/Quebec is this sort of lush hilly rolling landscape). Vegetation is also different (West coast trees are a bit more "spiky", East coast trees are more rounded and tends to have this silvery-green thing going on and yellow or purple flowers).

I could tell that last one was France cause it said "Parking" instead of "stationnement", and it had a zebra crossing sign in the European style.

In quebec the stop signs are written in french saying some other word than stop ( i forgor it) but in france you just see STOP written on the signs.

Arrêt (from the action of stopping, arrêter; or from the stop line, ligne d'arrêt). There is also a white background sign in Québec saying "ligne d'arrêt" to indicate exactly where you're supposed to stop at a complex intersection, for example with a diagonal street.
