Absolutely right. It's gelatine. Gelatine melts when you heat it up, human tissue does not. This is just playing around with stuff.

It's probably bitter on purpose, so you DON'T eat it. Edit: You should see if you can reduce the moisture in ballistics gel and make it thicker/harder. (Like, heat some in a pan and boil it down some, them pour it into a mold.)
