Is it just me or does Grievous's hatred of the Jedi Order seem pretty justified?? I mean, you would think they'd do their research before accidentally backing the wrong side. Especially when they were supposed to be peace keepers of the galaxy

Tyler Neal they would have been sent with an ultimatum. Cease and desist - but clearly they chose to attack the Jedi first
@Memnoch_the_Devil

ali ray but they didn't attack the Jedi first. The Jedi began entering the situation when the Huk (forgive my spelling) sought their help by convincing them Greivous's people started the war, which was a lie. Jedi should have sought out Greivous's people, instead of just acting in accord with those who sought them out first.
@aliray1165

Tyler Neal well I haven’t read the actual transcript of events, I’m just saying most likely given Jedi Code of conduct they probably didn’t create violence through anger. Most likely if things got heated in the actual event they were attacked first. So they went there to talk and put pressure but these people escalated it to violence. Ie they drew first. I’m just hypothesising btw

Tyler Neal Not entirely. It is true that the Huk lied about who began the war. But it is also true that Grievous was committing Genocide. Regardless of what the Jedi or Republic thought of Grievous or his people, Grievous needed to be stopped.

Max's mom In Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003) Grievous made His first appearance. He was able to take on 5 Jedi at a time without breaking a sweat. And didn't even use His extra arms. He was even capable to use a lightsaber. At the very end of the show (Which takes place less then a day before Revenge Of The Sith) Mace Windu is able to crush His chest. Making Him cough. It's also stated (In the developer commentary for ROTS) that Mace Windu damaged His lungs so much that He couldn't be able to fight Kenobi at His true power. Also, the EU books and Comics that also took place before ROTS showed Grievous to be a much greater threat.

He should have been the main antagonist of the prequels, specifically to Anakin. If Anakin were written more like Han Solo with a lightsaber, he would have resonated more with audiences, and really need a villain like Grievous to wipe the smile from his face. He could have then been pushed to great lengths just to beat the general, and cement his turn to the dark side, becoming the very thing he fought against, a cyborg.

The prequel trilogy is about the downfall of Anakin Skywalker. It is a tragedy that is bestrewn with metaphor and foreshadowing. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the Three apprentices of Darth Sidious. Darth Maul: A warrior driven by hatred and rage Darth Tyrannus: A fallen Jedi seduced by power General Grievous: A warrior twisted by loss into a cybernetic monstrosity Put all three of these together and you get what Anakin Skywalker was doomed to become. You get Darth Vader. A Sith warrior driven by rage, a fallen Jedi seduced by the power to save the one he loved whose loss shattered him, leaving nothing but a cybernetic shell behind. The greatest Jedi killer to ever live. Grievous' backstory isn't a rehash of Anakin's, it is a perfect mirror of it. This is foreshadowing done wonderfully right.

I know this is a joke, but interestingly enough, his mask actually went to grand admiral thrawn, and his body was reused by the empire to make some sort of mon-calimary General Grievous. The part about his body is one of the weirdest things I'm canon... But i always thought it was cool that thrawn ended up adding his mask to his collection.

Aw, I feel bad for him. He never meant any harm, he was just trying to do the right thing, but he was lied to and manipulated into thinking the Jedi were evil. Yeah, Aniken thought the same way, but he murdered inocent children, right? Did this guy do that? He was just trying to destroy a previous threat to his people, that could easily cause more harm if it continued to exist. Both were tricked, but this guy lacked no chance of avoiding his change. After all, his brain was even literally tampered with. Aniken could have seen what he was doing was wrong, he just ignored it. Ends justify means, was the way he thought. This guy wasn't doing ANYTHING wrong the way he saw it. Both stories are really pretty sad when you think about it.

I can’t remember if it was a game or movie, I think it was a game..but you walk through a gallery in grevious layer and you see photos of him progressing into who he became just prior to clone wars. He kept enhancing himself further and further because he found his becoming more cyborg was making him even stronger. Not only that, it helped to keep him alive because his health was also taking a toll. Hints: his coughing. The enhancements didn’t all happen at once.
