When it comes to frozen meals, no matter what brand... 1) the frozen vegetables are normally the best part. 2) the potatoes are always bland, and need to be doctored up. 3) the entree always has a weird texture (tough, spongey, rubbery, or slimey), and only gets its flavor from its surroundings (batter, gravy, or sauce). 4) If there is a dessert of some type, it's either hit or miss. Even if it's the same dessert.

Ramen is slightly less evil and typically actually cheaper than 1.99 (unless you buy the good stuff like Shin Ramyun.) If my budget is tight and I want something reasonably good for lunch or dinner, I would rather have Ramen than a frozen TV dinner. The taste is usually great, texture is always the same (what did you expect, they're noodles in broth,) and they take no time at all to cook. Invest in a variable temperature electric kettle and subsist entirely on various kinds of tea and ramen packets. That's what God intended.

I remember these from many years ago when they were called something like Pub Classics and instead of vegetables, it came with "cheese fries". They had other versions, like the Backyard BBQ, a Fajita type thing, and popcorn chicken that came with cheese filled breadsticks and had a spicy marinara sauce. I think they stopped those because of the obsecene amount of sodium. Yes, that Beer Battered chicken used to have MORE sodium.

Hi! I certainly remember them. My mum was a professional cook (she refused to be called a chef, but really she was) and it took us (myself and 3 sibs) months to nag her into buying these, just as we had to nag her into buying Oreo cookies! Everything we ate was homemade. So store bought anything was a great mystery. These "dinners" were NEW! After a successful campaign on our part she bought them, finally, and set about cooking them. Well, she took them out of the oven (all were beef dinners) and we sat down in great anticipation. And~OMG~they were just gawd awful. Just~no! That "beef" was chewier than "old shoe leather" as my dad called it. The dog very much appreciated ALL the beef though, lol. Can't remember if the rest was good tbh, but that meat *shudder * Jenn 🇨🇦

The best option is to cook it in the oven, after which you take out the entrée from the oven and add a layer of foil to the baking sheet. Take each of the chicken strips and place them on the foil covered sheet. Place the chicken strips back into the oven uncovered for about 5 minutes at 350°f-400°f(i cooked mine at 400). The chicken turns out just like on the box and the rest is already cooled waiting fornthe chicken strips to be added back to the entrée.

I've always believed that oven cooked is vastly superior to microwave & after watching, enjoying and sometimes wishing I lived in the US rather than the UK, I still stick with my view. Thank you for edifying myself & entertaining me, please keep safe in these troubling times, 😎👍👍

That used to be my favorite hungry-man meal back when my oldest was a baby(he's 16 now). It was awesome, with these great potato wedges and cheese sauce. Then they changed the wedges, they were awful no matter how you cooked them. The chicken is ok, but I think those have gone down in quality over the years also. If I catch these on a sale I'll have to try this version.

The potatoes would have done better in the micro if you kept the plastic over them. No place for the moisture to go, hence keeping the potatoes moist

This is my favorite TV Dinner. The beer battered chicken reminds me of my favorite fried chicken restaurant that is no longer really around: Pioneer Chicken.

I love Hungry Man dinners! Most of the meat concoctions are like a sausage, in that you don't want to know what the ingredients are. However, I disagree with your grading of 6/10. For value, this dinner is at least a 9/10.

In the early 80's I lived in Atlanta and ate these all the time and loved them (always cook them in the oven). Then in 1985 I moved to Nashville and have never been able to find them.

as much as i love sweets the brownie in TV dinners always seem to suck! why? same reasons mentioned here of course! dry and hard and of course other food embedded into the brownie....GROSS!!! even as a child i thought that was super gross!! same thing with pudding! 🤢🤮they cant even bother to have the dessert compartment come out?🤦♀️

That looked surprisingly appetizing. I think TV dinners would taste better out of the oven but they're on plastic trays, and therefore they have to cook so slowly that they're just dry.

3:27 Ok, this is the first ever video I've seen from this channel and I'm a little confused. Either this guy has very feminine hands with fierce nails or someone else does the stirring and forking of the food. Orrrrrrr is it the woman handed person who eats it and relays the info to the voice guy? Orrrrrrr does the hand spoon feed the voice? So many questions.

Phil C from my understanding, the guy who is narrating has issues with his hands (nerve or muscle issues) so he often has his wife do a lot of the on camera manipulation of foods He still tastes everything himself
