@@Njazmo lol i get what you're saying but he's also saying with the rats nest of cables even if you don't care about how it looks it's still a pain to get to the connectors on the PSU or to add mechanical HDDs if you need too since the cables take up so much room. That can kind of be solved by getting custom length cables, which i did for my 011 Dynamic, but then when you change cases you have to spend another $150-$200 to get custom length cables for that case. Luckily I didn't have to do that. i posted about this problem on reddit and CableMod actually reached out to me and sent me free custom length cables, which came in over $200.

I feel like all you need to do is look at the past decade+ of case design to realize why nobody had really done this before. It's only fairly recently that the MAJORITY of case designs are based around the idea of PSU in the basement or tucked away behind the motherboard, while the rest of the components get to life comfortably upstairs. Years ago, it was always PSU up top, and you were lucky to have much room to run your cables behind the motherboard, let alone have ample space for EASY cable routing. Back then, "Different" layouts were considered more premium, and you definitely paid for it. Probably essentially the same reason why having connectors on the reverse of the motherboard never really made much sense until now. The whole "Behind the motherboard tray" area was always an afterthought until the past few years. Now that's basically a priority.

With good access to the ports on PSU, other possible improvements: 1. L-shaped connectors on the power cables that connect to the PSU side so that the protrusion is minimal and doesn't hit the side panel of chasis 2. Due above, the connector ports on PSU should be rotated 90-deg to facilitate the way the cables will bend left/right. The position of the connector ports can be optimized in a way to prevent obstruction between the installed cables 3. Motherboard ATX power connector ports should be facing sideways instead of upwards which could improve cable routing effectiveness and aesthetics

I will never understand why they do not break conformity more often. This design is unique. I like it. With the proper case obviously. BUT imagine if they make them a little shorter, a little deeper and make a modification to the width. It could come with a adapter metal thing to allow it to fit in the standard PSU bay but then it would give you an additional inch or two for cable management. My gaming rig running a 3080 with a massive cooler still has plenty of room in the "psu basement". If they made them longer and shorter or just longer and narrower...they could really improve on psu power consumption...just a thought. Good vid man. Keep it up.

It does seem like a great idea for accessing the connectors, however, they need two versions: one with the cable connectors on the left and one with the cable connectors on the right, so people can choose which way up they wish to mount it. My case has a top mount power supply area, so the design in the video would be perfect, but if someone has a case with a bottom mount for the power supply, and they want to push the hot air down, then they'd need a PSU with connectors on the other side. Why do they still make cases with bottom spaces for power supplies? It seems insane to me, because hot air rises. I guess it's for smaller cases, so the HDDs and SSDs are mounted at the bottom, in the coolest part of the case.
