Hurricane Helene has caused devastation across parts of America, and resulted in over 100 deaths. However, destruction in the small town of Spruce Pine in North Carolina could have global repercussions.
Semiconductors are key parts of phones, computer chips and 99% of activity around the world. Spruce Pine is the responsible for the mining of the vast majority of a key substance in creating these semiconductors.
Sky's data and economics editor Ed Conway has a look at how the aftermath of Hurricane Helene has potentially caused months of disruption to this supply chain.
