The craziest thing to me for Ogors is that it seems completely unnecessary like Heywoah said. If you make ravenous brutes once per battle ROUND, end of any turn, it turns into something really nice. IMO that's what they should do. Simple change that doesn't require any effort. Trampling charge should also have been given +1 to damage inflicted if the unit is a monster, if any. And then you reword the +2 to run so that it stays active until a unit has been affected by ravenous brutes. Done, easy.

I got into AOS last year, have painted several armies but haven’t played yet; I am very hype for this edition and hope I’ll actually get to play.

Got into AoS for two reasons. Second reason was seeing the Spirit Hosts, which I've wanted since I saw them in the Vampire Counts lineup, in a newly-opened local game store. First reason was a video The Algorithm recommended to me, about every Age of Sigmar army in about thirty minutes. Got about half a Nighthaunt force built and painted. Myrmourn are one of our most gorgeous units, so it's a shame if they aren't good. But I'll probably run them anyway. Loving how painting goes, loving their visuals, and even their "Careen screaming into enemies, do it again, no core rules, we fightin' now, Such is the Power of Nagash" playstyle seems exciting. So thanks for all of that.

I'm with heywoah on the nighthaunt aura of dread vs. countercharge ruling. Countercharge lets you use a charge ability as though it were your turn. Aura of Dread abilities require your units to charge in order to use them, but they are not themselves charge abilities - they don't have the Charge keyword. Even if they had the charge keyword, Countercharge only lets you use one (1) charge ability as though it were your turn, and the Aura of Dread abilities are in fact separate abilities from the Charges they require.

26:06 that's exactly why I'm bummed about DoT. I was considering getting a Tzeentch army after completing my Seraphon one because it's my fav chaos god and I think Kairos look absolutely amazing (on of the best sculpts imo), but the rules are so lackluster. The God of Change just burns people ONE unit per turn? The God of Magic just gives you one lore of magic, and their most powerful wizards are just level 2 wizards (except Kairos) and seem to have no distinct damaging spells? Super underwhelming, might wait aswell pick another army. I fear for my Seraphon tho, I hope the Saurus part is strong tho.

maybe they'll give thundertusks back their 6-mortal-damage-at-long-range snowballs.

but yeah, the ogre article was bizarre. Like, you could not pay me to care about non-undead factions in this game, and it was still somehow bad enough to penetrate my extreme lack of interest. It really did feel like the AoS guys had some sort of grudge against ogres.

I'm pretty hype, enough so that I'm working to get spearheads for each of the four Death factions together. But then again I was pretty hype for 10th ed 40k too, and that didn't turn out so great in practice. But no biggie! If 4e AoS is good then I'll be ready to go all in on day one! But if not I'll still be happy with Warcry, Bloodbowl, Old World, and Middle Earth, all of which are pretty great already.

I really hope the Ogres see a significant re-think to their rules when their battletomes come out. One of the worse aspects of 10th edition, at least when I was paying attention, was how little they were willing to rethink poor design in the index rules once it came time to write codeces.

I think the idea behind KO boat charge is that little dorfs can't be transported and then charge unless the boat risks itself too. Cuz it can't fly away once it's in combat. So it's potentially quite risky. Or if it fails its charge ability, the little dorfs don't get to try again.

I'm strongly of the opinion that there are already more than enough rolls to make in the normal attack sequence of hit, wound, save, and ward - and that no rules should add to that. The devs have partially embraced this by combining bodyguard and ward rolls. IMO they need to do the same with random attacks and random damage. These should replace existing rolls in the attack sequence, not add to them. IE, if a profile as a random attacks characteristic, if such are allowed to exist at all, then those attacks should hit automatically, replacing the to-hit roll. If that makes a given profile too strong, then they can give it a worse rend, to-wound, or damage value. Likewise, if a profile has random damage then that profile should wound automatically, so the damage roll replaces the wound roll. Again if that would make a given profile too strong then the devs can compensate with reduced attacks, to-hit, or rend. This would make random attacks or damage suck less since you get something out of it, and also would stop them from slowing the game down with extra unnecessary dice rolls when, again, the attacks sequence already involves more dice rolling than it should.

I agree in principle, but it also takes some granularity out of the game And TBF the random characteristics are few and far between

I swear I'm not on copium, but I believe the people who make 40k and AoS are totally separate teams. AoS has been the better ruleset for a while now, and so far that doesn't seem like its changing.
