Hi! I just want you to know how this 10 minute video has impacted my life so much. I am 12 years old and have a condition much like your did. I am on the Sibo diet and I admit i have a pitty party. I haven't gone to school, but i just came back a week ago. I missed my friends and was so upset. I didn't know if i would get better. I have done every diagnostic test there is and its hard to not know what is wrong with your body. I was in tears watching this video because now i am excited to eat the way i do. And to go to school and eat veggies instead of chips like my friends. so thanks for showing me that i can do this. I hope you see this! You made my day 10x better!!!

Thank you for sharing. Here is what helped me: 1. Good nutrition, good sleep, extensive walking, and low stress. 2. Walk twice daily. This is better than a longer walk once/day. This is also better than running fast because more relaxing. 3. Chewing my food thoroughly and completely. Count the number of chews. 4. Prunes. 5. Peppermint 6. Magnesium 7. Daily nap Rather than concentrating on killing the bacteria, I concentrate on low stress, good digestion, and fast transit time. This worked for me. I feel so much better. I had tried everything. Different diets, probiotics, etc. Chewing my food thoroughly and completely was a game-changer. And I have to walk twice a day. And if I feel stressed, I lie down and close my eyes and relax. Best wishes to you!

Yes we own our own health. Intermittent fasting and once a month 36 hour fast helped me. Painful cramps left but gas still is a bit if a problem. I tried Keto but it made Sibo worse and made bowel movements very inconsistent. Regular daily walking and upper body weight workout really helps. I walk 2 to 3 miles fast daily and I am over 70.

I've got SIBO, been fighting it for years now. I'm finally starting to see some positive turns with it! I just ate pizza with some focaccia bread crust and it didn't put me in serious, cry-your-eyes-out pain! Just made me a little sick from the gas. I found out that I ended up with SIBO because of emotional issues causing toxic energy to build up in that area of my body. It's so bad...anyway, dealing with my traumas and letting them go is helping my system to recover. The diet really has just made the pain less unmanageable, but it never helped alleviate the condition itself.

Thanks Rebecca. Just seeing this now, years later… but I’m struggling so much. I’ve been sick with gut related issues since I was 5 years old and I’m now 24. It just feels never ending and it’s the most defeating feeling ever. It really impacts my day to day life… I feel lost at times. I get intense nausea, abdominal pain (usually upper abdomen and middle) sometimes vomiting, chronic bloating, and I get pain after eating pretty much no matter what I eat. Energy is affected too and sleep. I’ve been dealing with some pretty bad insomnia, I do have sibo, but idk what the underlying cause is. But I just need symptom relief and want this to get better. My ND wants to start me on a couple antimicrobials but I’m scared to start because of how trial and error it can be, and I guess worried it’ll make my symptoms worse. I can’t imagine this feeling worse than it does. Let me know if anyone had advice for me, it’s been a struggle on the daily to say the least but I want to not be so fearful and just try something… not so afraid of the what ifs and unknowns around it.

I would say pick a date to start the Sibo diet protocol and then prepare yourself in advance. I started cutting things out of my diet slowly so it wouldn’t be such a shock on the day. I also gathered recipes so I wouldn’t have to struggle figuring out what to eat. Another thing that was helpful to gut healing is intermittent fasting so I started practicing that and getting my body used to it. I will say that it isn’t easy for the first week as the healing crisis can be nasty but just take it easy on yourself and don’t give up because then you have to start again. I was never hungry and never counted calories yet I effortlessly lost extra weight I was carrying for a dozen years. I find I might have to do back on the diet as some symptoms have come back after 2 years but I attribute that to allowing not so healthy foods back into my life too often. It’s hard when your husband is a sugar and junk food monster, but I sure don’t like feeling tired, nauseous, bloated and dizzy. Not fun.

How do you distinguish between SIBO and IBS? For the last 3 months I have had excessive gas and soft stool almost every day. On bad days I have diarrhea as well. There is no pain but it is just mentally draining. I have noticed mucus in my stool in several occasions. The symptoms are usually worse in the mornings and after I eat fatty/oily food. I had exams before the summer holidays which was very stressful and then ate a lot of snacks and had a bad diet over the summer when I went to Japan for 2months on vacation. As a side note, I have food allergies in egg, fish, raw vegetables and raw fruits and so my diet was already imbalanced. My aunt has IBD. And my stress levels are usually high everyday because I have misophonia (sound sentstiveness) for the past 7years which makes me in a 'fight or flight' mode very often. I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist but I have to wait a month for the appointment. Any ideas to what it could possibly be? My life has become miserable and I am feeling low.. Anyways thanks for reading.

I ate all the foods that are included in the SIBO Bi Phasic Diet by Dr Nirala Jacobi. I found that diet suited me really well. You may have eaten too much spinach or you may just be sensitive to it. You might find the guidelines helpful in the Bi Phasic diet as it lists the quantities for each food. bit.ly/3QazjpW

I already eat this way and not helping at all. Waiting to do sibo test and going to follow Elemental Liquid diet for a month. I am not hungry or interested in food anyway. My issues are more cognitive and not sleeping and thinking the bacteria is more active at night. Seeing new FMD in a week this will be my 5th natural Dr. None of them even mentioned SIBO. Are you kidding me?? I should demand my money back if I do indeed test positive.

I know that it's probably wrong to even be thinking this way, but I need to know for my own sanity so that I can prepare myself, mentally, haha. When you get to the point where you feel you have cured your SIBO, however long that may take, are you eventually able to eat the burger and chips again? Or are certain foods just off the menu forever? Obviously, I don't mean specific foods that trigger inflammation, but I guess I'm asking how restricted your diet has to remain, once you feel healthy again.

I know. She doesn't even really mention exactly what she took to cure it, just vague answers and if you want to know you have to go buy her cook book or something. Smh. Anyone suffering from sibo knows how debilitating and stressful it is and how many of us spend so much money before we even get to the root of the problem. It's just sad and messes up to prey on people's sickness for extra bucks.

Dear Rebecca, what herbs, and how or how much did you take in the beginning to kill of the Sibo?
@druefit7856

The best way to kill off the bad bacteria is to starve the bad bacteria by using a FODMAP diet (as those foods cause growth of the bad bacteria) and you also want to use anti-microbial supplements (some of my favorites are Coriander Seed Oil - by Andreas Seed Oils and Oil of Oregano). Hope this helps!

I used a variety of herbs. You can check out an article I have on my website which lists the common herbs and antibiotics used to treat SIBO, depending on whether you have hydrogen or methane dominant SIBO. thehealthygut.co/sibo-summit-review-dr-allison-siebecker/ You can also read more about the different diets that are commonly used in conjunction with the antibiotic or herbal treatments here: thehealthygut.co/sibo-summit-review-dr-allison-siebecker-part-2/

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! This is the first video I've seen that made me feel hopeful and the fact that you actually include a link to all of the herbs and diets is so amazing. You cannot imagine how much I appreciate this information (or maybe you can, haha). I was in tears yesterday from frustration and just this little inspiration has made me feel a thousand times better! everybody else I've seen has taken the antibiotics and it's just come back again. I was beginning to think there were no answers. I hope to heal myself and someday help other people, just as you are. Much love!

I had the SIBO test and it was dreadful. My body instantly reacted to the lactulose and It gave me chronic diarrhea for almost 48hrs. Before then I had normal bowel movements but had other digestive issues and wanted to rule out SIBO. Test came back positive and super dominant on hydrogen! (Diarrhea) 90 mins in.. but I can’t help to remember that they literally have me these symptoms!!! The Lacoste ruined my digestive track for days. It’s a synthetic laxative. So be cautious with these tests.. also after further research, these SIBO tests are not even 60% accurate. Yikes!

if you have been chronically constipated all the time, it is likely that it is not bacteria causing the issues, but archea. Also SIBO is not about too many bacteria but about disbiosis the wrong proportions. They produce the methane which causes bloating and slow motility. In that case, the correct definition is not SIBO but IMO Your tips about eating are definitely good. "Feeling crap"haha when talking about SIBO people cant help making lousy puns.

I got SIBO because I got misdiagnosed and dr gave me PPI pills which lowered my HCL levels which is how bacterial overgrowth occured ... How should I aproach this ,I am very tired of reading everyhing on the internet about this topic ,I just want to have this plan and start doing it ... I never was someone that had bad diet or something else I just was unlucky with my doctor . I tried eating certain food that doesnt cause bloathing and gas but that is only not feeding the bacteria , how should I kill them ?

All test ok they said. I am healthy...so I gave up...actually I didnt gave up. But I felt helpless. Now I found that we have low stomach acid probably.. so we have to take HCL + beatine for few weeks/ months and that should help us. I start few days ago and have better feeling. Less diarrhea. Will see later.

@@bazosmarek7981 no I'm still going thru it but I ve found that eating small quantities at meal time helps alot and now I try to stay away from milk wheat flour and suger and that helps too...but its really difficult to stick to it for long as I love cooking and making different kinds of food ....but trying my best to keep to it ....I cant take HCL as I get a burning feeling in my stomach and it really gets bad ...so lighter meals are the only answer...try to stay away from foods that are hard to digest and keep to small quantities and you should feel better ...its not an easy road but I think if we can keep to it for a longer period it will help heal our gut ...wishing you the best !
