Off Andros (Bahamas) on a sandy bottom at about 25 metres surrounded by coral near the the Tongue of the Ocean which drops virtually sheer to 2,000m. Dumped our buyancy, sat on the sand and then turned out our lights. Once my eyes had adjusted, it was magic even as my imagination kicked in!

Then there were a couple cave dives and two bouncers to a ledge overhanging the Tongue at about 40m. No narcosis the first time but there certainly was on the second a few days later. Small Hope Bay highly recommended.

The underwater footage was seriously spectacular. I miss diving with my old ears and sinuses I'm just snorkeling now. That Spanish dancer. 👍. At least I can watch your great learning adventure. Memories are always good when you're in your 70's

Is this really the Advanced Open water diver course? Seems very similar to my SSAC (Scottish version of BSAC) 2nd class diver qualification. Although several years ago now, we underwent open water rescue and lifts from 20 metres whilst buddy breathing, several 40m dives, and snorkel dive to 12 metres in full kit. Admittedly our training took place over a considerably longer period. Whilst certainly not disparaging your efforts, and no criticism intended I would have thought the Advanced course would be more .... well advanced. ps love your vids and fish/mollusc identification. keep up the good work❤

Yes, it's the course. It followed the PADI text book and was undertaken at a serious dive school. Sounds like you are a lot more advanced. Liz

I've always been impressed by your animal research, here and in previous videos. But how?? The common, or everyday, name as well as the Linnaean name. I love reading the name and finding the Latin roots, e.g. "Spanish Dancer," _Hexa-somethingorother_ and _sanguinea_ (bloody or, simply, red). Cheers on your certificate! Regards, please, to Liz.

Hi Daniel. It helps having people around me like Sharon or Maman who might be able to give me a head start, otherwise Google normally delivers if you put in the right search term. Imagine trying to do all this identification without Google 😮
