Thank you so much for this video! I love your videos and your voice! I use this system for the same thing. I don't have major bills, but when I needed the money for something important I had nothing left. This system is a great way to start being accountable! Very good video. And sorry, my English is not my first language. 😓😓

I need help with how to start doing this. I am doing paycheck by paycheck paying what is due before next pay but I’d love to be a month ahead so I can save from each paycheck to make it easier
@LilyBudgets
28 күн бұрын
It's always smart to track your expenses for a month or so before so you have a good grasp on what you're spending and where you need to cut back! Getting a month ahead can certainly take some time, so if you're able to put aside any extra money right now, it will build up! Patience is key, and consistency. Try to put as much away as you can until you have a month's worth of your expenses saved up - as long as you stick with it, it can work for you! 💛If you have any specific questions, message me over on Instagram!

Is there a portion of your budget that you don’t share online? I’m confused at some of the major categories that are seemingly completely unaccounted for. When do you buy things like shampoo, household supplies, beauty treatments (hair, nails, etc.), birthday gifts, holidays outside of Christmas, etc.? Also, as homeowners, do you not set aside for repairs or maintenance? Not trying to judge it just seems a little incomplete.

@@meetmeatthebookshelf8169 hi! Yes, I have an envelope for toiletries, and I have a home emergency fund envelope separate from my regular emergency fund. I just don’t stuff them in every single video💛 I don’t get beauty treatments done regularly, but when I plan to get my hair done or something like that I’ll save up for that in my personal envelope. I do my own nails, and any fees from that come from my supplies envelope because they’re technically for “business” (KZitem) but I rarely buy anything. Gifts come from either my buffer, Christmas, or some other envelope, but I try to hand-make things for ppl when I can since I have the means to☺️ also, I share household expenses with my boyfriend, and he makes more than me so he tends to buy them more. Hope this helps!

my struggle is i never know the amounts of the paychecks like there's no way for me to see it correctly

Like, your income is really inconsistent? That's definitely a struggle. I'd recommend taking a good 1-2 months of tracking your income and expenses so you can get a general idea of the average income/output you're dealing with. It also helped me to figure out a minimum amount that I needed to make each paycheck in order to cover my bills (1/4 of them, since I get paid weekly) and just try my best to make that much! It can be hard, and it will be trial and error for sure. DM me over on Instagram if you have any more specific concerns!

@LilyBudgets yea like it's always over a certain number but some times the difference is like 200$ I also have my husband who gets paid weekly to look at and his fluctuate more than mine

@@sarakondraski5756 as long as they’re usually over a certain threshold, I’d use that number as a base minimum and budget off of that, then budget out the rest once you know for sure what you have. As long as the basics and bills are covered, that’s all that matters💛
