I never do deadlifts, everything else in this video , specially pull ups (weighted) have greatly helped me build a better back.

I’m curious to hear your reason for doing chin ups as opposed to pullups for back. Don’t chinups shift some of the forces towards the biceps? Also your deadlift form is insane.
@Solomon_Nelson
8 ай бұрын
You’re correct that underhand grip emphasizes the biceps more than overhand grip, but I don’t think that means that the back muscles are targeted any less. Basically, I see chins as a better bang for your buck choice than pull-ups (as great as normal pull-ups are). Regarding my deadlift form, thanks!

@@Solomon_Nelson I see, personally I avoid chinups as they seem to annihilate my elbows for no reason. Clearly your back is doing fine with the chinups tho lol.

@@sherpFPS That’s a great reason on your part to avoid chins. Sometimes weird joint and connective tissue issues like that go away over time, but it’s good to play it safe.

You mention 'progressive tension overload' but there is no mention of 'time under tension' and I consider an 'overload' is to increase either mass, reps, sets, or time. It seems like you are suggesting that an increase of mass at moderate rep ranges is the only driver of growth for naturals, and I just don't think this is true. But maybe I'm missing your point.

Hello Solomon, I have a question. Do you ever get elbow pain from doing chin ups?
@Solomon_Nelson
7 ай бұрын
I battled with elbow pain on and off for my first ~4 years of lifting. It got pretty bad, and did afflict me on chin-ups. Fortunately, it went away, and now I do chin-ups without elbow pain most of the time. What little pain I do experience now I often train through, since at this point I know my body well enough that I can tell which pains I should, or shouldn’t train through.

Are heavy RDL's just as good for building your back, or would say purely conventional is the best?

Yesterday i saw a steroid dude with estimated 20kg more muscle than i am on his back/harmstring training. He was not using more weights then i am. Just 36kg on the Hypertension

What’s the protocol when progressive tension overload stalls though? How many sessions hitting same reps before changing a variable? Isit a matter of waiting for the adaptation?
@Solomon_Nelson
8 ай бұрын
It depends. Some people who have stalled are following bad routines and should change things. Others are doing everything right, and just have to be patient. Or, they’re very advanced, and will see very slow progress regardless of how optimized their approach is.
