This video presents my real experience of dealing with a lady with fake Facebook profile who texted me and tried to befriend me so as to later scam me.
Sometimes called sweetheart scammers, they are everywhere. Knowing how they work is a good way to help prevent yourself, your friends or relatives from falling victim. Some of them are very convincing and will spend days or weeks grooming their victims.
One red flag is the contact information at the top of the page. If you see no photo in the profile pic and a contact number starting with 234, it is from Nigeria. Nigeria is the world capital for online scams. They will tell you that they need money for food or WIFI, or they need to buy medication for themselves or a family member. Things like that are always on their script.
One who is older than 80 should never even consider going for romance. How can anyone, male or female, think that some young hot person is really in love with them? These old geesers trying to have a last fling are delusional. Take up a hobby, get a dog or a cat, no one is going to fall in love with you, it's all a delusion.
The Nigerian scammers have a very sophisticated operation, and they target older women, particularly if they have been widowed. Still, it's absolutely amazing what these women are willing to do for "love".
We teach children not to take candy from strangers. We need to teach the elderly not to give money to online scammers.
It's always older women, who are love deprived, and the guy is always out of the country. Anyone needing your money - RUN FAST & FAR!!~
If they ask for money it is a scam. Block him!!!
It’s shameful that men have worked for decades to build up a pension, buy life insurance and have investments so that when he dies his wife is well taken care of, but instead of living off their husbands pension, these women are giving away everything that he had worked for.
There can only be romance scammer if there is a romance fool at the other end ending money.
