You can also use autoslice and slice to as many pads as you want in one shot. You can choose which pad to start on. Before you do the slicing you can adjust the start points. Both ways require setting the start points, obviously. Isn’t beatmaker 3 a gem of an app.. Thanks for a well made video.

Ah yes! Im definitely aware of that feature and it works great too! I tend to only use that feature when I want to get really intricate with my chops or if I have a big sample. If I have a simple loop or small sample, I like to use this method shown in the video because it allows me to work faster. It's the same way I used to chop my samples on my old Asr-x pro and Asr-10. My brain still is still hardwired to use old school methods haha. But I totally agree with you, Beatmaker 3 is an amazing app. Intua is always raising the bar higher and higher with each release. Thanks for watching the video! Glad you enjoyed it :)

I was about to ask the same thing. Not autoslice, but why not add all slices at the same time by enter slice mode and add slices manually in the timeline? And just spread them out on the pads? Almost the same procedure as you do now, but no copying needed. Btw, mentioning the ASR. Do you use it all anymore or are you using BM3 for all your sampling now?

Hey Jay, Great vid... does this duplicate the sample keeping the same size just minus the truncated portion off the front? Im using 32gb so saving space is always thought of in my workflow...
@JayEllyiot
6 жыл бұрын
Jason Scott hello! Glad you enjoyed the vid! When you duplicate the pad it makes a copy of that pad entirely. But once youve copied that pad and pasted it to another, you can trim the sample after youve made your start / end adjustments, so that youll only keep the trimmed part. Hope that helps!

Hey thanks man! Glad you like the video! I actually didnt import any samples. I recorded my own sample using beatmaker and poison-202 synth app. Then i chopped the recorded sample in beatmaker. I’d love to sample music from KZitem, Spotify or Apple Music into BeatMaker. What app can I use? Internal audio recording somehow or some KZitem converter?
@JayEllyiot
5 жыл бұрын
Phil Phi P best/easiest way would be to just screen record what you wanna sample from youtube, spotify etc.. and then extract the audio from that screen record video. You can use lumafusion to export audio from a video, then import that audio to which ever app you wanna use. Hope that helps!
@Philipp1610
5 жыл бұрын
@@JayEllyiot yea, i figured that, but screen recording only is with the microphone audio and not internal audio, right? Or is there an app to record the internal audio? Mic sound is not really what istrive for in my music prodcution 😀 but thanks for the reply! :)
@JayEllyiot

Phil Phi P screen record, records the internal audio. And with the latest ios, it now records the internal audio in stereo. It used to only record in mono prior. But ya, this method has been alive and well for a few years now. Give it a try!

@JayEllyiot
5 жыл бұрын
setphaser oh yea thers definitely an easier way and bm3 allows you to chop how you mentioned. This is just an alternative way of doing it, more so for quick / simple chops. Bigger loops that require a crazy amount of chops would be better of doing another method.

But how do you set the tune for multiple samples at the same time?
@JayEllyiot
7 жыл бұрын
Thats a good question. In the previous beatmaker they had the option of selecting more than 1 pad, and then whatever adjustments you made like volume, pitch etc... All those adjustments would be made to all the pads. For whatever reason they took out that option in this version. The only work around I was able to come up with, is to make your adjustments first before you start chopping. That way when you go to create your slices, those adjustments will already be made to all the pads. Unfortunately, if you want to make some adjustments again, you'll have to do it to each individual pad. I know some peeps have requested to bring back that feature, so hopefully they do so, because I want it back too! Lol. Hope this helps man!

Check "Slice Mode", it allows you to chop a sample and distribute over the pads.
@YoungZ1314

nodinetv if you slice your sample using the slice mode, export it as a single layer and when you make an adjustment, it should change all of the samples
@PhantomEG
7 жыл бұрын
Aamir Edwards it only works with the keys if i save as single layer not the pads. In beatmaker 2 theres an option called multi which allows you to select all the pads then you can adjust the pitch tune etc of a sample.
