I use a wet palette for all my acrylic painting. Very easy to make: you just need a metal or plastic tray, two layers of wet paper towels, and a piece of parchment paper on top of that. The parchment paper allows a small amount of moisture to get through, so your paint stays wet longer. Then when you're done, just replace the parchment paper; nothing to clean. Eventually the paper towels will get dirty and need replacing, but they will last for a few paintings.

A paint scraper works great too. Mine uses the old single-sided shaving blade. It doesn't need solvent, just push the blade into the dried paint and it peels up and leaves the glass clean.

I have a glass palette too, but I just use plain water to wet the paint and it works pretty well.

John, using alcohol to get old paint out of brushes, is it damaging to brushes?

I never tried it... but I think it's not that effective.., try to use paint remover... and wash it with thinner then soap and water for final cleaning...

That works really fast and looks easy! John, can you safely use the alcohol on your painting if you've got too much paint build up from reworking a part on your painting too much? Thanks!!!! 💝💝💝xxx

+Deidra Bell i don't think so... never tried it. But i think a thick paint part of the painting is fine. Just like using a palette knife, the are thick and thin part and it looks good. But if you really want to remove it, you can use a paint remover. It will be easy.
