I am a very creative person & my entire life has been filled with "copycats", everything from businesses or my style. It's been something I struggle with and a lot of people don't discuss. It does feel like a personal attack on your character, you're right. Often people lack creativity and just need to copy from others & it sucks. Thanks for this video, much appreciated.

I don’t want to use too much hyperbole, but this is one of the most important videos I’ve watched in a while. I’ve had a lot of success with my own business in the last year, not Alex numbers but mid 6 figs. So many people (some I was close with) have essentially tried to go out and do exactly what I’m doing, even to the point of copy and pasting my own website copy (like what?)….at first I was a bit hurt and wanted to confront them, but this video is 100% the way I should be thinking.

1. I am bigger and stronger than them, because they are trying to copy me, not the other way around. 2. Never aknowledge them, never mention them in front of anyone, friends/family/employees etc. 3. The person trying to copy me admits they are a follower, which means they cannot lead. 4. They come from a place of scarsity. 5. They focus on me, not their customer, which will be their demise. 6. If they get loud, you get louder about your solutions to people's problems, about your purpose and mission. 7. What value do I want my actions to stand for..? 8. Don't celebrate when they disappear... Never aknowledge them!

Thanks for this Alex. I've been in the martial arts for over 50 years and here's my take: you can't fight everyone that throws on you because that's all you'd do is fight. All you can do is live your life right thinking and right living, because if you do, then in the long run, all will be well, and those who mean you harm will suffer in their own ineptitude and fears of failure.

So true, historically I had people posing at customers just to know how we do things. I had copycats threatening me. I even had someone straight out copy one of our products and make a “comparison page” that was all about me as a person, how I am lazy or whatever, and not the actual product. I had cease and desist letters. I had copycats bombarding us with fake signups. And more. I'm still standing. They vanished.

IDK, I'm a values guy learning the hard way to give at least one F about money value, so I'm here to only take what is being offered for the values of caring, delivering, and building ever higher. Even of Alex wasn't talking about business knowledge so many like me need, I'd probably still be learning from him. He has a lot to share and he actually shares it. Now that's a real G in my book.

Such an important topic. Excellent approach Alex. Business Owners who are genuine and trying to help their clients are often attacked personally by haters. Personally attacking someone's character is usually a sign of weakness or fear. If a competitor can't provide more value, they try to create FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, & Doubt) in the minds of consumers. Instead, they should strive to improve themselves and focus on the goals of their clients. Nice work! This will help a lot of people.

This is why I prioritize compartmentalization with my employees and i even create a few unnecessary steps in tasks and job duties just to create an illusion of complexity in the operation. Basically I encrypt my process. I will even work on things infront of them until they notice and ask "wow you have to do all that to it just get it to function properly before sending it out?" To which I respond "yea so and so from department xyz didn't do it before getting sent out so I have to do it" then they respond "wow I didn't even know that had to be done for it to work properly" just to discourage them from thinking that they could replicate what we do at our company.

Hey Alex, I own a brand that makes a particular physical products line and our new products are flat out copied every single time, it's infuriating. Competing brands copy our social media content, even try to steal the personalities appearing in my content by making them offers to come do the exact same content for their brand. Every new product I come up with is stolen. I have a product coming out in December that I know is going to be a homerun. I'm expecting 5 million a year on this product that will cost 60 bucks. I know it will be bought by competitors and they will immediately start producing it. Design patents don't seem to offer much protection. I've learned that most business people just steal everything from other people. It's so angering because when I'm designing something, I genuinely think of my own ideas. I never scour for shit to copy
