Really good to see someone cut one of these compressors open and know where to make the cuts. Great knowledge to pass on. I have to agree with Dan the Scrapper, the prices for whole compressors here are around $1/kg AUD , ( approx $0.70 US /kg ). At the moment would lose money retrieving the copper. But love your set up for removing the windings from the stator.👍👍 Thanks for another great video.

I have to make a research to other scrap yards about the prices.... I know that my scrapyard doesn't have the best practices.... but I'm realizing that something isn't right.... Thank you for watching my friend😁

take a long thin axe head or machete and split the stator in half and you wont have to use a angle grinder and loose some copper or have copper dust flying around your shop.

I did a quick calculation but my prices and your prices are different.....For me it is now more profitable to sell the compressors whole, i get $1.05kg for compressors at the moment so if i cut open id loose money... But some yards do pay cheap prices for the compressors and on those occasions then definitely more profitable to cut open.....Good job buddy.

that diameter makes cutting the crown of the copper stator on bigger compressors & motors. vrs the smaller grinder with smaller wheel,, may not be big enough to cut through the windings.
