The point that that’s not in cycles and you still made it look realistic as it is, is amazing. Amazing work

Awesome work, I have just finished designing a spaceship however due to the fact it doesn't have tonnes of details and greebles (which due to its purpose it shouldn't have), I am struggling a bit to texture it. How did you get that nice flat texture whilst maintaining a level of detail? Thanks

Very interesting timeline. I would like to try to create something like that. But too high speed. If you can do at a lower speed, I think many will also be interested.

as old as blender is, making a radial array is crazy unintuative. It should be as simple as clicking a radial box inside the array modifier and setting a radius in meter and the # of objects to spread around the array and boom. done. nope. AND you can't array more the one mesh unless you rig it. As common as making things in a circle is, I would have thought this would have been made simple by now. Blender 4.0? Array modifier.... radial, radius, #items... no? Nice vid. Seems like a cool add on for doing those complex models.

You struggle to put textures on models like this, because the faces are not supported by enough edges. You shouldn't do at all what he did in the video. This is a horrible way to do 3d modelling.

Do you know how this would compare to the Hardops/Boxcutter combo? you used those before?
@JuhaniJokinen
3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Hardops/Boxcutter is also a great combo but it has a lot more features. For my workflow Fluent has been more streamlined and thus a bit easier to learn and faster to use. Thanks for watching the video!

I am glad to see that you are also using blender octane. I would like to ask, do you know how to add fog to the environment?
@JuhaniJokinen
3 жыл бұрын
I have a video coming up where I go through the basics for Octane in blender but in short I use a cube with a scattering medium applied to it. Check out Lino Grandi’s KZitem channel in the meantime, I think he had a video on fog :)

I too would like the name of the rotational array tool. Blender's tools are awesome, but their circular array tool is very clunky and hard to use.

What do you think of hard ops / box cutter
@JuhaniJokinen

Hi! I think they are great as well- I like fluent since it's simpler and faster for me to use for 3d concepting but box cutter definitely goes deeper and has more options.

Awesome process! And did you use Octane standalone or octane with blender? Do you think you have better results than rendering with Cycles?
@JuhaniJokinen
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Lucas! Glad you liked the video! I used Octane Blender for this and that's what I've been using at work as well for the past year and a half. I love the responsiveness of Octane in Blender and the ease of getting realistic results quickly. The cons however are that a lot of rendering related add-ons wont work with octane as they are usually made only for Cycles. Also, OTOY should be coming out with their ''eevee-like'' realtime engine later this year and I think that might be a game changer as well. Thanks again!

Outstanding software skills, but the design work and end result isn’t very good. You don’t have any qualities of imagination or originality.
