Amazing work! Since you used Midjourney, I wonder what your take was on the general use of AI in art-making considering it's such a hot button issue for artists right now and will only become more relevant as creatives need to learn how to claw back technologies to empower us, not be in service of our displacement and exclusion.

Don't know if you really want to be admitting to knowingly using random images you found on Google and Pinterest for a commercial project, especially one as big as a Metallica merch project. I know you said that one wasn't approved, but using unlicensed imagery could land you and them in hot water. Congratulations on landing a dream client though.

It’s a fair thing to bring up but I always make it a point to obscure and edit the photos I source and use them only as supporting elements. Probably not the best idea to say it on video but figured with that design being unapproved it’s not as huge as deal. I agree with you of course, it’s definitely walking a tightrope. I try to take as much precaution as I can so I do have subscriptions to stock services etc. However for things like clouds or lightning as supporting elements it’s not so paramount to me.

Madeworn is the shit bro. Solid work I have a question though. Is there a way to get a faded print directly from photoshop to the garment? I've been doing a lot of clothing design for some people recently, and I really wanna nail down that vintage faded look on the graphics. Like does transparency show up when screen printing?

Love the work man! question what are the bigger differences between vintone and depthtone?
@DoronStudio
11 ай бұрын
gonna make a video on that! for starters, vintone is a lot more customizable. there's a ton of new dither patterns to choose from - halftone, distressed halftone, grain, diffusion, diamond grain, fabric grain, etc. the coloring is also done/painted in completely manually in vintone which allows the user a lot more flexibility with the graphic, where as in depthtone the colors are based on the tonal values of your image and are automatically applied. vintone also allows you to composite your artwork live and have it dithered in real-time, whereas in depthtone the compositing process and dithering is done separately and the workflow is not as seamless. so the main attraction over depthtone is the further degrees of flexibility and modularity when compositing and coloring your work. but both definitely have their place in the design process depending on the look you're going for.

man admitting on video he’s stealing random images from pinterest and google and use them on original merch. setting your client up for a lawsuit. fine for photoshop practice but you cant sell this. it will bite you at some point.

I did over 20 designs with complex and expressive compositions. The client ultimately wanted a simple reimage of their classic album covers and so that’s what ultimately got through. Part of the design process is designing according to what the client wants and feels is best to sell to their customers, rather than according to ability and creative expression. The process is much longer and more thought out than what may meet the eye.
