Today I'm showing you how I gave an old bike a makeover to make it my new favorite eco-friendly mode of transportation! I got this old, used bike suuuuper cheap from a neighbor through Facebook Marketplace, and I was happy to give this cruiser a fresh new look. To prep and paint it I used a few new materials, like sandpaper and spray paint, but I also reused old grocery bags, rice bags, and old rags.
Biking has a carbon footprint of about 21g of CO2 per kilometer. That’s less than walking (about half!) or getting the bus, and less than a tenth the emissions of driving! Not everyone can cycle, but if you're able to I highly recommend it as a fun, low-waste way of getting around!
