Just a little note, to speed this up by like you said "Put it in a warm and dark place" I have found the best place to put them under your refrigerator. Works awesome and fast. I germinate all my seeds that way.

I always use this method with a variation after lack of germination. I now put them in moist paper towel with water but I now sort of ball the towel up enclosing seeds. I think not having them pressed all together and give them some air and breathing room helped in my situation.

Went to the farmer's market two years ago and grabbed a bunch of peppers and kept their seeds. I put them into a paper towel in a zipper bag along with some store bought Roma tomatoes and all but this one bag have come up since 5/1. The one bag I think one, or two, have germinated but the problem is I only know which are Jalapeno and which are the Tomatoes the other four bags will be a surprise.

A way I am attempting to keep these in a warm dark place, is by putting them into an insulated igloo bag, and putting that bag ontop of the tower of my computer, in theory this should be able to keep it fairly dark, and the heat from my computer should warm the bag no matter the conditions. I'll post a reply if anything happens.
