In this video I demonstrate some of the techniques I use for glazing oil paintings. It is a relaxed video where I explain what I am doing while working on an actual painting. The colours used for the demonstration includes phthalo blue, burnt sienna, raw sienna, burnt umber and alizarin crimson. Liquin Original is used as the glazing medium. I work in multiple thin layers. Very often a glaze would be followed by a layer of refinement and more detail and the process will be repeated over and over again until I reach my current level of expertise and I feel that I can’t do anything more to improve the painting, then I’m done and I move on to the next project or give the current one a rest and come back to it again. The paint used in this demonstration is from Winsor & Newton, so is the Liquin Original.
