That's great information, thank you. I would add two things though. You want to take care of all derogatory remarks by facing the music with collections if you have those. Also, it's possible to boost your score very fast by convincing someone you know with a lot of credit to add you as an authorized user for one of their cards.

First off, love your videos. Andrei, you have inspired me to finally take the plunge and start investing with Robinhood. Only 1k invested so far, but I will continue to march on with my dividend portfolio! Anyway, good advice as usual, but I would like to add my experience that may help some younger people. Simply put, I've had my credit card since I was old enough to get one (I'm 33 btw), and the only thing I've ever done is making sure not putting too much money on it every month, and pay it off, in full, every month. I've never missed a payment, and I think only once or twice have I not payed it off in full at the end of the month. Also, whenever I'd have a payment over a thousand dollars, I would make it a priority to pay it off entirely come bill time. That's it. My credit score is over 800.

My score is stuck around 800-810. They said I don't have enough debt, or owe enough money. They want me to spend more money. So basically, they want me to buy more things, that I don't need, or that I don't want, for no reason. I know I'll need a good score for a mortgages or car loans, but I'm not a big fan of interest. I'll just buy it in cash if I needed to. That or I won't buy it at all, and live in van by the river.

Although I've use Credit Karma, make no mistake their scores are off by approx 40 points. My Experian score is 770, but my CK scores constantly lagged behind at 727 & 738. I got frustrated and did a fico credit score check, and to my surprise, the scores C Karma was reporting as 727 & 728 where actually 767 equifax & 778 for transunion. Experian was correct at 770, so my combined actual Fico scores equaled 768. I heard other people say the same because C Karma uses the useless VANTAGE scoring model, as do other free credit apps. With that said, they are good for just an idea if your score is going up or down each month. But if you do like Andrei says, you can feel confident that your equifax & Trans union scores will be within approx 3 points of your Experian app, which is the only one that is accurate! I raised my score from a 0 start to 770 score in one year also.

Hey Andrei, just found your channel about a week ago and I’m binging all of your videos, thank you for the value you bring us! Only a minor point, but just be aware that in regard to collision damage protection via credit card when renting a car, it often sounds much better than it really is. As an airport manager in the rental car industry, I can tell you first hand that we NEVER file any claims directly through credit cards. A very large majority are not primary, cover $0 in liability, and the credit card company themselves will have us file with your insurance first. If you aren’t paying them for coverage, why would they eat a total loss of our vehicle? Most will reimburse you (conditionally) for your deductible with your car insurance after you have already paid it, typically $500 or $1000. However, your insurance company will likely raise your premiums, which you will pay as long as you are insured with that company. If you don’t have collision on your policy, expect to pay the full amount of damages on the vehicle, although this can take a month or so to evaluate. If you don’t have insurance at all, the cars are only insured to the state minimum (Florida, $10000). This is not much and if you do not have liability in excess of that amount in the event of an accident, the other party’s insurance company is likely to sue you for the remaining balance. I understand the appeal of having credit card coverage, but it’s unfortunately a scenario that is often too good to be true. TLDR: If your trip is short, buy the protection and don’t rely on a credit card to potentially cover a total loss of your vehicle. Credit cards only reimburse your deductible when you get into an accident with a rental car, and will not come up front to cover your ass.

Andrei, thank you for your videos, your content is great! However I can't find the answer to this simple question in any credit card video: I recently opened a credit card and my limit is $700, I use it all the time, on any of my purchases and spend around $120 every week, so I pay my balance in full every week in order to keep it low. My question is: Is it counts as if I'm using ~15% of my credit limit, meaning $120 or is it the amount I use during the month ~ $480? I can't understand how it works and what should I do with it. I would highly appreciate if you'd provide your advice. Thank you. Привет из Украины!
@Candikanelane
5 жыл бұрын
What counts is the amount you leave when your statement closes. So if you have a $500 card and you spend $120 every week, but pay it off every week it will not reflect the total spent for the month on your credit report. I do the same with all my cards. I buy and pay off as I go and make sure to be at 10% of my limit or less when they close the statement and send the next month's bill. Good luck.

I've made a lot of research credit score repair and boost. And this is one of the best videos 🎥 I've come across. I already know all of these tricks: credit utilization (how often one uses his/her credit to make purchases), on-time monthly payment (paying one's credit card bills or loans on time every month even if it's the minimum payment), credit history age (how old are your credit cards 1, 5, 10 or 20+ years old) , and credit inquiry (often does one apply for credit cards or loans and how many within a short period of time), and the number of credit card one owns. Thank you for sharing this great and helpful video. 🤝 Keep up the outstanding job! 😎

Why is it best to only spend 10% of your revolving credit? Why do credit card companies take that into consideration? Also will it affect your score the same if you spend 3% vs 8%...as long as it's under 10%?
@notnoternexto

Nathan Breunig the lower the better. I been experimenting for months and doing this. I let my revolving credit go up from 3 to 6% and my credit score went down. I did the same the following month from 6 to 9% and it went down( only a couple points but still) then I did pay it down. Went from 9 to 1% and credit score went up, ended up w higher score than where I was when I was at 3% utilization.

Hey Andre, My wife and I are both at utilization averaging 4-6% and have consistent scores in the 730-750 range. Any tips on how we can leverage up to the next level?

10:12 THIS IS NOT TRUE !! You can Use any amount that You want...The Carry over Balance is the one that is not recommended to be more than 10%. If I have a $100 card, I can Use $90 but I have to make sure to pay at least $80 and in the credit report will show a $10 use.
@aaronpurslow4240

To add to this individual utilization matters too which he did not mention he only said total utilization but if more than 10 percent is reported on any individual credit account it will count against you. In addition he should have stressed asking each creditor which day of the month they report because it will vary from creditor to creditor and most of them will not be on the 1st like one would assume.

He did say Utilization counted for 30% of your credit score. The 10% he spoke of was 10% of your extended credit line (all of them added up) I hope it helped you and that I explained it correctly.

He is correct with saying that the amount of money that you have, or the income won't be either good or bad towards your credit report. But when you ask for any credit product, banks will look at your your credit score, income, debt to income ratio, some financial institutions will also consider the relationship that you have with them. So please dont be surprised if you get declined for a loan if you you dont make enough to pay it back regardless of your credit score.

@@ismaelmartinez9676 Only put one subscription on the card. Do not use the card for anything else. Set the card to auto-pay every month from your checking account. If you already had a netflix subscription you are essentially just moving how you pay the subscription to a credit card instead of your bank account. Call this credit card your netflix card and only use it for netflix and you should be on your way.

Trust me, it has nothing to do with public schools. It's done on purpose by the elite, to keep the mass stupid, ignorant, and in debt. There are things we, or some people just don't know. For example, why do rich people live in Florida, most of the time. It's cause Florida is one of a few states protects your home in the event of a bankruptcy. Why do the rich purchase homes with LL C? You will find the answers to these, if....you seek them. Good luck to all. Incidentally, years ago, they used to teach how to balance check books in public school, not anymore.
