Can one straighten hair with relaxer and still maintain a healthy long hair?
@paulineohanwe4222
5 жыл бұрын
@@katnisseverdeen4021 seen. But what I actually ment is can't a healthy long hair be made from a relaxed hair? Does other means of hair straightening such as flat iron and the rest of them supersede the use of relaxer as a means of hair straightening?
@katnisseverdeen4021
5 жыл бұрын
@@paulineohanwe4222 I don't have relaxed hair but I have had a perm in the past but it was not healthy. It looked thin and straggly but it wasn't. I've been natural for a year and it's healthy but not long. That's my bad experience but healthy long hair can be made from relaxers but it might take a long time. It didn't work out for me but it might work out for you. And no flat ironing is semi permanent meaning it is permanent for how long you straighten it. But a relaxer and perm are permanent unless you cut off the straight hair and go natural. There is something called a silk press that I'd recommend. It's a new way of hair straightening where people at a salon straighten your hair with a flat iron and instead of using a hotcomb to straighten it then curl with a curling iron like the press and curl you flatiron it then put a serum on it for shine. Too much of relaxers, flatironing and perms are bad. I speak from the people around me. If you want a relaxer that's your choice. But none of these are permanent if you use a relaxer *continuously* it will be permanent. Same with a perm.
@katnisseverdeen4021
5 жыл бұрын
@@paulineohanwe4222 so basically yes it's possible You already put a relaxer in, there is no need to flat iron it every day. Lastly, know that any high-alkaline product will cause your hair to straighten. ... You can achievehealthy hair even with a relaxer. It all comes down to having an understanding of your hair, a good dose of patience, and a healthy hairregimen.Sep 6, 2012

People kill me with the genetics argument. Most of us don’t even know what our hair can do genetically. Just because your parents and/or grandparents have short hair doesn’t mean you can’t have long hair. Their hair could’ve been short because they chose to keep it that way or simply because they didn’t know how to retain length. I don’t know why people assume when black people have short hair it’s because it doesn’t grow. They don’t want us to learn our hair.

I think genetics does determine length. Reason: Armpit hair, pubic hair, leg hair, don't grow to infinity and beyond. The lengths may vary per the individual some with longer leg hair or shorter. I think head hair has a terminal length (the time period it will grow before it sheds out). If starting on a bald head and someone has an anagen phase of 2 years (avg. 2-7 yrs., possibly 3-5 yrs. reports vary) and grow the average speed (1/2 inch), they'll max at 12 inches before their hair sheds out. The majority of people probably don't see their terminal length (it would require perfect hair care, no breakage in any way). Though, in particular for black hair, maintenance is very important for the hair to grow long. So, I wouldn't focus at all on the genetics argument when maintenance should be the focus. Most black women will see an increase if they properly take care of their hair.

Rhassoul clay, henna, and shampoo only after a hot oil treatment. The other thing that has helped my growth and thickness recently and I should mention this, is I take Vital Collagen Peptides. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes to Apple cider vinegar making my hair dry and brittle! I went natural in 2011 and have never had a good experience doing an ACV rinse, whilst everybody else was raving about it. 🤨 Apparently apart from balancing the ph and promoting shine I’ve read it helps to STRENGTHEN the hair. Well, I run away from from anything containing that word, because I already have thick, strong, EXTREMELY Low porosity hair. So the only conclusion I can come to is that it’s just adding another protein-like strengthening deposit on my hair, which my hair clearly doesn’t need, and as you use a lot of natural products with plant proteins, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s the same for you. Thank you for being such an inspiration, you’ve encouraged me to go back to all natural products again. My hair was thriving when I did.... 😍

Sometimes what appears to be genetics is really "family practices". For example, if your grandmother, mother aunts and sisters all practice the same hair care which may not be very healthy, have the same eating habits because they were all taught the same things, have similar lifestyles, then it's quite easy for this entire group to have similar happenings... and before you know it, we would all say its genetics. Same thing goes for diseases, we say its genetics when it's really lifestyle. Having said that, break free and go conquer that long, healthy hair sis!
@Claredon1
5 жыл бұрын
Either your sister's hair is more resilient in some way. Is it thicker, coarser, or straighter? Or she does haircare that's more conducive to growth. Does she take care of it in a way different from the family? Also, your parents have the same hair genes as your sister. They passed it down, of course. It may be a case of your sister displaying recessive genes that cause more resilient hair. Assuming you all share the same hair care practices that is.

I don’t even know where to start to take care of my hair with her videos. There’s so many good videos she has. I think I will begin with the onion decoction. I guess with the apple cider vinegar, your scalp was strong enough to take the vinegar. But now your scalp is on a different level, stronger so apple cider can’t handle it anymore.

If you use an apple cider vinegar continuously like that you not diluting it yes it can begin to make your hair brittle and it gets your hair out a pH balance versus pH balancing your hair. You can also mix it with fresh aloe vera juice I add a couple essential oils and I use in a few different ways I do not use it every week.

Yeap ❤the key is learning and some are very consistent. Some people do nothing to their hair and it just grows. Where others usevall kinds of products or natural herbs for growth. I just take care of mines the same way you do and keep it twisted.

I would only use AC once a month. The oh balance of your hair changes with apple cider, also dilute with water. Try Aloe leaf to mosturize your hair.

I feel that the apple cider vinegar brittle effect is due to the hair becoming imbalanced ph wise. So your hair is probably becoming more acidic. So maybe ease up on the apple cider vinegar and other ph related remedies. Thank you so much for your channel! You are truly an inspiration!!!! Thank you and be blessed!🙏🏾🙏🏾😍

You may need to Clarify your hair and then go back to ACV. I use "Neutrogena" about every 6 months and it make your hair squeaky clean and removes any buildup that gets inside the stand. After that I go back to my all natural or organic cleansers like. Wow, I need to get my yoga stretching on. Thanks for sharing.

I am in my 60's and have always had long hair. It is currently down to 3 inches from my butt. I have had hair that long for at least 10-15 years. I don't use a lot on my hair. My problem is thin hair. I rarely wear it down and it is natural. I want to try something new to thicker my hair up. Will onion help this.

Onion, Amla, Fenugreek seeds, Henna. Henna deposits the dye into your hair shaft causing it to get thicker and stronger with time. Amla and Fenugreek can help not only with the number of hair follicles but also the number of hairs produced by the follicles. You can drink amla juice and apply it on your scalp. You can also drink fenugreek water and apply it in your scalp.Onion strengthens hair and prevents breakage.

Before I forget gotta say love your twists too cute ( now back to the video ) Honestly gotta say again gorgeous hair periodttt! I'm glad you didn't get caught up in the lie about genetics being a hindrance to hair growth. Same as the lie that our hair's not alive, when she very much is. Since many women come to the point of cutting their hair due to exactly this. I do want to add that finger detangling is NOT necessary. The key is in the use of the correct tools. It shouldn't take you longer than 15 mins max to fully detangle your hair. Regardless of how much of it you have on your head. Plus you can also create your detangling mixture. Which will even cut that time in half, and make sure that your time for detangling is extremely quick. With all this hair there has NEVER been anytime I've finger detangled. Just don't have that kinda patience, and I'm glad because that's how I knew the correct tools to use. Not to mention our hair's main job is to protect our skull. So it has to be extremely strong to be appointed that gig to begin with. Due to this heat is also not something necessary to shy away from. If used correctly which would again consist of the correct tools. Plus not being used continuously then there should be no issues. I'm also happy to see that you added nutrition, and exercise into the mix. Since I'm in the medical field I can tell you the main reason that most have issues with hair growth. Simply happens to be due to their body displaying that they have issues with their ( HEALTH ) A lack of the PROPER nutrition is usually the main reason for this. Thanks for another great video. 📕 Girl you always get me on here writing mini novella's 😁

@@deinfakio3775 Whatever tools work best for your hair, would be the correct tools for you to use. If you experience shedding, or breaking then you know that's not the correct tool for you. Apple cider vinegar has a lot of acid, wouldn't acid eat and dry out? Its interesting that you have noticed and admitted about vinegar. So many say it's such a good thing. We have to be careful on what and how we clean our hair because we can clean out some of whatever is essential to the life in our hair.

Perhaps as your hair grew and became stronger and more healthy, it changed a bit. Maybe you should add less ACV (than what you were adding before). Maybe your hair doesn’t need as strong a solution as you were using before.

If you figure out why acv affects your hair differently now, please update us! I thought it may have been a change of your hair's porosity, but that doesn't make too much sense, because you don't use heat, hair tools, or techniques that would damage your strands and lift the cuticles. That's interesting.

Yes you can. I've seen people who have locked their hair while short and grown it long. You can grow your hair long loose as well. You don't have to lock it to grow. Fenugreek, Amla and Henna are excellent for hair growth. Watch Curly Proverbz, Indigenous Strandz and Green Beauty as well. You'll learn a lot from their channels.
