Box fans and desk fans have low static pressure. Which means that they are bad at moving air through a long tube. They'll move relatively little air for all the noise they make. Some better choices would be high static pressure delta fans (probably what your booth came with), or an inline duct fan. Bathroom vent fan, radon mitigation fan, etc. You can get a 4 inch variable speed inline fan that is made for kind of thing for around $30

Do we have to use two inline duct fans like in this video? one on top (air go out) and the other at the bottom where air goes in the booth

Amazing!! Here I was putting a window fan inside my makeshift booth putting it on exhaust when is too hot then on intake when I need to narrate. I use a program that I thought would handle the fan noise... sadly it was heard when I narrated. Tyvm for the video it was fun and educational.

I use a portable air-conditioner in there vented outside with dryer vent hose.. I cool it off, then turn off and blanket cover the AC Unit, and get to work. Thanks for the video. You are very entertaining. I love your solution! Very Cool.

This seams counter intuitive but trust me it works. When I got my booth, air came in at the bottom on one side and out through the top on the other side just like yours. I changed it so the air now comes in at the top in front of me and goes out through the top behind me. It’s now so much cooler in there. It’s the top part of the booth that gets warm so that’s where you need to move most air. The air at the bottom is always going to be cooler whatever you do. Your face, mouth, monitor are all in the top half so work on keeping that cool and forget about the bottom.

@@creatorsvillage Yep, cool air down low just stays low until it heats up enough to rise. By then, it's not helpful. Pull low air from outside to the top of your booth so it can fall over you as it descends. Also, you need a larger hose for that size box fan, or better yet, two of the smaller fans with two exhaust ports down by your feet. This also transfers any noise from the active side of the mic to below and behind it a little. Great video, thanks.

Your videos are very good! They deserved more views, both for their technical and artistic quality! Do you boost your content through KZitem Ads? Do you understand paid traffic to distribute your content? I'm in Brazil and whenever new video comes out I watch it, but man, who is starting on the internet need to pay to distribute the content. Really! If I'm saying this, it's because I'm sure something's wrong. The quality is too high for so few views! You need to learn how to create paid traffic! And look carefully. I am a doctor. I don't work with marketing, but the views are pretty unfair for such great content!

Thanks for making this great video! I have some improvement suggestions you may find useful :) Remember, aluminium hosing is much cleaner, safer and more hygienic to use. Considering other forms of hose are full of microplastics, toxic chemicals, coating that can crack/flake off over time (to then be inhaled by you inside your booth) or are made from rubber which provides a much easier environment for mould and bacteria to grow in, do.you really want to be breathing in air through a rubber hose or dryer hose? Due.to the length and narrow diameter it would be a nightmare to wash and clean the inside out regularly and disinfect it after letting it fully dry out. When you are in the voice over industry and need to avoid a sore.or.irritated throat, I think it would present an unnecessary exposure to.potential throat infections. If you are going to use non aluminium hoses, at least be sure to.spray antibacterial spray into it on both ends before and after every session to stop anything growing inside in the meantime! And put a stocking over the opening to stop bugs wandering in! Just FYI anyone who decides to try this, instead of using that long, narrow Dryer Vent Hose, use 60mm Aluminium Ventilation Ducting Hose with a flared end that fits over the entire front side of your fan and then narrows down to the side of the vent pipe opening (in a conical cylinder shape). Then use glue, tape or wire to attach the flared end to the fan face. By doing that, you ensure that all of the air is being ducted into the hose you want it running into instead of some going in and most going around the outside. The advantage of using the wider alumnium ventilation ducting is that all of the cooling wind force will be concentrated into the booth via the ventilation duct. As all.of its force is being concentrated where you want it to go and none is flowing out elsewhere, you will be able to maximise the cooling efficiency of your system with the fan running at lower speeds than it needed to in this video The advantage of this is that: 1. A lower fan speed = less noise and electrical interference 2. The concentration of all the fan air into the ventilation hose means you can place it much further away and still get a cool breeze in your booth without the noise. 3. If you don't have much space and need to place your fan behind a piece of furniture or around a corner, you can just wrap the outside of the vent hose in a layer of chicken wire (to give it a strong outer frame that holds it open) and shape it to curve and bend to any path you need it to run without the hose collapsing, kinking or flapping around. 4. Aluminium is naturally able to reach a cool temperature and insulate cool air much more efficiently than rubber hose. It is also a much more sanitary type of ventilaton tubing to be breathing through. It is literally designed for ventilating buildings with cool, clean, fresh air. If.you dont have chicken wire for your aluminium vent hosing you can also run a shaft, pvc pipe or pole through the inside to guide it in a straight line into the both. Just in case there is any crinkling from the aluminium hosing in this above method, you could wrap some towels or a blanket around the exterior with tape before putting on the chicken wire wrap and/or you could take squares of sound proofing foam and glue them to the inner walls of the vent tubing (glued in to align with the curved interior wall) at random intervals in order to deaden any sound that may occur in the tubing. I believe that with this method you could even have the fan situated in a separate room to booth and have it running while you record on low speed without issue. Another method that helps if your booth has cloth walls is to draw a large square on two of the inner walls as window outlines, then with scissors, cut along the left, top and right line of each square, so you now have two square shaped flaps hanging down with two wide open square shaped windows on each side. These will be your cooling holes. Then, at a craft/seamstress store, buy 6 pairs of those velcro strips with an adhesive glue on the back for attaching them to cloth. With the flaps hanging.down so they are in the interior of the booth and not the exterior, take the loop strip from 3 pairs of the velcro strip and attach one on the left side in the centre or higher, one on the top side of the flap in the centre and one on the right side in the centre or higher. Then attach the 3 hook strips onto the booth wall, aligning them so that each one hooks onto the loop strips on the flap when the flap is lifted up. Repeat on the other side. You know have 2 cheap, easy ventilation windows you can open and close in seconds from inside the booth in order to cool it down even faster. If your pedestal fan has no remote and you want to be able to turn it on/off from inside the booth without having to walk back and forth, just set up a power board inside the booth, take the power cord for the pedestal fan and (using the chicken wire wrapped around the outside of the aluminium ventilation hose as a frame to tie it onto) run the pedestal fan power cord/extension cord back up along the side of the aluminium ventilation hose and into the power board on the inside of the booth. From this, you will now be able to flick the power switch on/off without moving, which is great for quick blasts of.cool air between takes on extra hot days. Anyway I hope that helps you/someone else reading this. :)

Wow, what a thoughtful comment! I use a really good airfilter that I run constantly when i'm not recording. But I agree you gotta be careful of moisture and the like. Mold is a killer. I'll look into the aluminum hose vs. plastic. I agree that the plastic could have some off-gassing. Thanks!
