Great video! I recommend keeping in mind that you may have to switch up your niche to avoid burnout, trust me I posted a beat every single day for over a year and most of the time I used the same tags over and over again. Focusing on that niche really helped my growth though so it's not bad advice, but when the burnout came it was a bitch to get through.

I just started making music last summer, couldn't even make anything more than a simple boom bap drum pattern, and now here I am watching this. It is incredible that the producer community is so open with different methods of making a living, it seems like people are generally really supportive of others getting placements and sales, and that is so refreshing to me. Crazy that this content is free, any other industry and there'd be sharks trying to sell you this kind of information for huge sums. Much love bro!

Idk sometimes I think I just gotta try to stick to one style and deal with it. I've been producing since 2011. Started with EDM (House and Electro) then went onto global bass stuff (Diplo, moombahton, trap) and progressed to Jersey Club music and some Cashmere Cat inspired future trap. (Jersey Club is where I was able to establish a grounded following of listeners and fellow producers/DJs alike) That said, i've been producing for a little over 10 years but still no revenue from it. I have a strong passion for music and creating it, but my dad recently told me i'm basically putting my talents to waste if i'm not able to make any kind of income from it. I figure these sort of things just take time, especially in music. But if a guy who's been making type beats for 6 months can make thousands compared to a guy who's been making original tracks for 10 years and earning nothing? It's time to give this a shot! So thank you for sharing with us, because this is something I needed to see. It at least helps me know where I can start, to begin making money
@LosantoBeats

All about research bro. Gotta learn how to put your talents and passion to generate money. We live in a time where basically everyone is connected through the internet. Im sure somewhere somehow someone is willing to pay for your art. Just gotta find those avenues. Get a manager that gets you gigs or something if you are into the DJ/Producer thing.

The “[Free]”tag is just to announce that your beats are free for nonprofit use. There is another tag which is “[Free for profit]” which is self explanatory. If you’re not making free for nonprofit use beats then, don’t use this tag in your title.

there is a very weird emotion in me when i see this. when i was way younger and started making music i also dreamed of being financially succesful by making beats. however i quickly moved away from this goal because it seemed like one would have to lose everything that makes music so exciting in order to do that in most cases. and i even think you are proving my point with this video. there is so much cringe in your advice. like that one should care most about the thumbnails of a youtube channel rather than ever talking about sounddesign decisions and stuff. also the advice to restrict the style heavily. that is just not how human inspiration works. i can not imagine that being a lot of fun and if music stops being fun, can it still be good? then people should just mindlessly google modern genre tags to check how popular they currently are. like.. how is someone supposed to feel the essence of a genre if they only make it because they saw it going brr in some diagram? i don't want this to come across like i'm dissing you or anything. i have not heard your music and maybe you can actually pull off having such a distanced relationship with music but still enjoying the process and fulfilling yourself in your music somehow. i just can't imagine ever getting close to that. if i only did 1 of the things you propose to be done i'd already feel like i'm comitting a cardinal sin. (except for the thumbnail thing maybe)
@heyitskite
2 жыл бұрын
i understand how u feel, it’s okay. I just talk about the things that can maximize your return. Yeah i know, it feels a lot more like a job than something we do for fun. However, you can still make variety of styles. You can go through that route but it’ll be hard for people to understand what you represent.
@Beatsbasteln
2 жыл бұрын
@@heyitskite thanks for your reply. if i may ask, how do you handle this sensation that you just need to move on musically? like sometimes you just need to try something new but you still have 20 typebeats to make in a particular style. do you just force yourself through it and make the other music in the remaining time or are there actually techniques to overcome the need to stick to a style for too long?
@heyitskite
2 жыл бұрын
I personally don't make music for fun, it's work. So I tend to stick to one particular style of music that the regular buyers love, but that's just my way of doing it. Once you build a brand for yourself, it's easier to sell different products than your main ones.
@Bittamin
2 жыл бұрын
@@Beatsbasteln if it’s still your passion keep it your passion. If doing it through a working perspective and structure ruins it entirely for you, than making money off production just might not be right for you. You can make some of the best music in the entire world and get nothing from it, as long as you’re happy with the process and outcome it really doesn’t matter
@Beatsbasteln
2 жыл бұрын
@@Bittamin yeah it's just that one has to live from something and if making music is what you are good at, then it's a bit sad when marketing and branding is not so much your thing and you can't get people to spend money on your stuff. but i lately watched a cool video by andrew huong, in which he actually explained how he was able to make a brand around his person, as a versatile sounddesigner instead of a simple type-beat-maker. it kinda gave me a little hope that it's actually possible to make a brand about something complex and evolving, gave me hope that making or being a brand does not always mean that you have to give up on natural instincts about quality
