@THUGSBUNNY
2 жыл бұрын
@@davidsinclairblack Because while you have every reason to be super proud of yourself, focusing on your age feels like you're drawing attention to how brilliant you were for figuring out this stuff so young, when in reality for a lot of people it takes years to get to a point where they afford music as a hobby, let alone a full time job. Equipment costs money, promotion costs money, software costs money, creativity and expression need time that isn't an exhausted hour after a 10 hour shift. This is not to knock your achievement, you've absolutely killed it, and done an incredible thing, but as you get older you realise that we're all running the same race, just not on the same track, and when you go through the finish line, it doesn't mean others haven't worked as hard as you, or aren't as smart as you and in reality your age is irrelevant to what you've built. Imagine someone in their 30s or 40s working minimum wage, saving for a laptop and speakers, educating themselves online, pirating software, using free plugins, sacrificing their precious free time when they have one day off a week, sacrificing their income when they are barely scraping by, looking after kids, fighting through the exhaustion of maintaining their daily life, battling mental health issues. If this person managed to achieve what you've achieved, would it be less impressive because they're older? it's impressive because of the obstacles they (and you) have overcome, being 19 isn't an obstacle, it's a blessing.
@davidsinclairblack

@@THUGSBUNNY that's a fair comment dude, I agree with it - age doesn't matter. I've worked with clients from 14 to mid 40's, and the only thing that draws me to work with them is their attitude, which is regardless of their age. I've also worked with young and older musicians who don't share the same attitude, so you're absolutely right. It's something I'll address in another video for you as it's something I deeply care about, appreciate the feedback!

This is probably not true. It is very vague answers and most musicians do this on the daily. Promote there services on fiverr for example, they will master your songs for like $25 or produce backing tracks to your songs, for like $10. I am not a bot, I am hustling musician. In the last year, i have learned much about the music business, and I don't what you are saying is possible, I would like to see more proof, and if you are selling me a service, to find out about how to be a service musician, then I really think this info might not be true. If any one else in the comments area has already started doing the techniques on this video and have started to make money, please correct me and comment on here. Thank you.
@davidsinclairblack

Your comment doesn't make sense Samjr, you're saying it's "probably not true" that a Producer - for example - can sell their production for a fee? Or that a songwriter can't sell their songs either? You don't need to look at my video to see this is true, just look at SoundBetter.com - it's an entire economy dedicated for freelance Musicians. So to say that 'this probably isn't true' and that you need verification for what I'm saying can be instantly disproved by a little research, i.e. realising that Musicians have worked as freelancers since the dawn of time - selling their Music as a service. If you don't believe ME, then visit my website. We've got 5/5 star reviews and a plentiful amount of case studies. Lastly, selling your Music services for $25 is done by Musicians who have no sense of the value of what they offer. McDonalds, is a low value product, hence why their entire menu will cost you less than $100, if you're a Musician selling mixing and mastering for anything less than $200 < $500, you're a low value commodity. You'll only become worth it when you COMMAND YOUR VALUE.
@samjrmusic
2 жыл бұрын
@@davidsinclairblack Your value, and the cost of what you do, are two different things. Plenty of people with no talent making tones of money, their value is not worth that money, but they know how to sell and market themselves, and some are just charismatic. And my comment does make sense, I said probably, not that it isn't true. Bute with every day getting ads, from different companies, for improving your odds in the music business, even people selling vies and bots, you should understand skeptics. But I am out, no worries, good luck on your plight to help musicians.
@davidsinclairblack
2 жыл бұрын
@@samjrmusic No, your VALUE and COST should be EXACTLY linked. That's why so many Musicians are broke! They should always, always, always be linked; this is where undercharging happens. And when you undercharge you get clients that don't give a shit about your service, don't give a shit about you (because you're just a commodity to them) and you're having to get 10's of clients every month to be BROKE with Music. There is a much better way, i.e. what I talk about on my channel.
@davidsinclairblack
2 жыл бұрын
@@samjrmusic And look, I understand we're inundated with ads at the moment, but it doesn't mean you riff off on guys that are making a change. I understand the skepticism, but for what it's worth, the majority of people you see online are of a genuine nature and out to help Musicians. The SCAMMERS are hiding behind laptops DM'ing you on Instagram about their playlisting service. I certainly am not. Do you really think I would be out here, displaying my face, company, brand, reputation, personal background and income if I was trying to hide something? Again, I respect the skepticism - generally, Musicians should be - but that's no thing to replace research and the benefit of the doubt with new companies. Also, if the information resonates with you, just let it resonate. I'm not selling you anything, I'm not pushing a course; I'm just out here giving info away for free, spreading brand awareness. Sure, I'd like people to be interested to work with me, but that happens as a result of these videos. I have enough clients; I don't need anymore phone calls booked. I hope that gives you an insight into what I believe to be true about the Music industry, and wish you the best also.

Can you give out examples? How many beats did you sell in a month , how much did you sell the beats for and did multiple people use your beats?
@davidsinclairblack

The longer format version of this video is out, will explain Wright: kzitem.info/news/bejne/sGyey3Z5iHapqoY But to answer your question quickly I did a combination of lease and exclusive sales, the majority of my revenue was exclusive work while keeping a percentage of copyright, publishing and writers share. I actually ended up selling beats for £1,785 after DSBBeats, lol. These were exclusive and included other things too to increase the value of my service, I included mixing and mastering for example - as well as a few tips on marketing the release. I think the best way to answer your question is that while I had (and still have) my Beatstars account (www.beatstars.com/sinclairmediagroup) I didn't make many sales off of it, as the longer format video I linked at the beginning of this reply explains, I did A LOT of outreach.

I dont think you were actually making what you claim.. you just multiplied a few of your sales through a daily, weekly and monthly factor until you arrived at an estimate of what a year would be. Its an old trick that salesmen do. They multiply the biggest week they ever had in sales by 52 and go around telling everyone thats what they are on.
@davidsinclairblack

Hey C, thanks for the comment. In actual fact, I was making £6,000 Per Month as a producer. The reality is, it's not much money in comparison to other producers who are making much more - so if I were to make ridiculous claims - why wouldn't I just say I make $250,000 < $800,000 (linked below)? kzitem.info/news/bejne/03-l4H2BiaClnno There is no benefit I have in telling people I earn more money I do. I'm fully transparent - for example - in saying that in my first 'proper' year of business with Sinclair Media Group (my current company) that we did just shy of £50,000 in my Channel Trailler (linked below) - so in real terms I'm generating less revenue than I was three years ago - why would I make such a claim if I were trying to verbosely go around talking about how 'rich' I was? kzitem.info/news/bejne/p3x5vquVnoVkdYY Also, as I mentioned in the end of the video, my income with DSBBeats did teter out. I closed the social medais in August of 2019 (for personal reasons, which I'll explain in another video) and as a result - my income got massively hit. So I hope this clears your doubts, and if you want to find out more about me you can call me using the link in the description :-)

@kz moncler No, I dont believe his claim and I stated it clearly in the original post. His response actually raises more questions. He is a nobody in the music industry so he cant claim to be earning up there with the superstars or known professionals - so, he tames his exaggeration to make it look attainable. I dont believe he was even earning £6,000 per month. Satisfied ?

Hey dude, I deleted the social media's for DSBBeats back in August of 2019. I was selling the beats through Beatstars ( I still have the profile for that, here: www.beatstars.com/sinclairmediagroup ) and through Instagram DM's.
