🌿 Hi there! As a lot of you had seemed to like my previous speedpaint video, I decided to share a process of making a new lovely spring cross stitch design with you!
🌿 This pattern is available here: boosty.to/alen...
✔"A spring gift" is a counted cross stitch pattern that could be stitched on canvas, evenweave or water soluble canvas.
✔It is an instant download PDF file.
✔Design size is 113 х 119 stitches or 8,1 x 8,5 inches (20,5 х 21,6 cm) - counted for 28 ct evenweave. When changing a fabric count, the finished work size also changes.
✔Stitches used: cross stitch, one 3/4 and one 1/4 cross stitch (at the bunny's eye), half cross stitch, back stitch.
✔Number of DMC colors: 34 solid colors + 3 blends of them.
✔The pattern is in English.
✔PDF files include:
• Pattern with colored symbols with and without back stitch
• Pattern with black & white symbols with and without back stitch
• Pattern key with instructions in English
• Thread lengths
• Colored + black & white pattern that fits on one page for comfort stitching using a tablet
🌿 As always, I started with thinking about the needlework’s future size and purpose. I wanted it to be possible to cross stitch this design on a sweatshirt or another piece of clothes, so it set some «boundary conditions» for my work. I mean, if we want it be easy to stitch on a water-soluble canvas,
the pattern should be a counted one.
🌿 When the right size is chosen, I start drawing the back stitches.
When I’m happy with how the back stitches look, I pick the thread colors for the cross stitches. It isn’t always an easy thing to do - sometimes it takes a lot of time and several attempts to choose a palette and shades that’ll fit perfectly. Sometimes I change my mind after several days of working on a design and try different color variations until I’m totally happy with the finished result.
🌿 Sometimes the original picture isn’t accurate enough with light-and-shades, so I have to readjust it by my own preference. In this very design it seemed to me that the whole picture was a kind of falling to the left, so I added some extra leaves to its right side to balance the composition.
🌿 When I’m finally done with drawing, there comes the time for choosing symbols for the pattern key. It also takes a while to do, as I try to make my pattern easy to follow. I didn’t film that as it wasn’t a very interesting thing to watch, believe me)
🌿 Then I count thread lengths, make a pattern key, write some instructions for you if there is a need to explain something just a little bit further and export the pattern to a PDF file.
🌿 Hope you enjoyed this speedpaint! See you in my next videos!!!)
