This week's video covers a lot of ground. It shows how I throw, trim and attach the lines onto these vases. They're more individual pots, made to be grouped and displayed as opposed to used fucntionally, but to each their own. I also speak about pottery as a whole, my philosophies and discuss technique. I hope you like it and as always I've included some time stamps below if you want to jump to certain topics.
Timecodes:
0:00 - Introduction and discussion of the pots function
0:10 - Throwing the vase forms
4:06 - How I scrape my hands clean to lift pots off the wheel
14:07 - The thrown vases together
14:31 - Trimming the vases
23:11 - Adding the linear markings to the vases
27:05 - Wrapping vases to dry slowly, to prevent the lines from cracking
To find the trimming, spinner, tools I use you can follow this link: (fb.watch/6pc1lA360v/), they may not always be available but if you get in touch with Richard Carter, of that page, he may be able to help!
Thanks for watching!
