Paul...I buy liquid frost drops from Stirling Soap & add about 12 drops to my Thayer witch hazel & it works great.

Thanks Paul I too have started making scented witch hazel with menthol crystals. I just bought some orange essential oil as well as pink grapefruit essential oil and tried that with my mentholated crystals and it is awesome. I cannot find the big containers of witch hazel where I am in Canada but will check out Ebay :)

Thanks Paul I might give this a go as I use Tahyers medicated witch hazel at the moment (which - no pun - you cannot buy anymore)as an aftershave but this method is good because you can add anything (within reason) to the mix to make your own.

Sir Paul, Thanks for the informative tutorial video. Topic is appropriate for the season we are in: Autumn, Halloween, Witches and Craft... The advantage is being cheaper and the ability to customize the fragrance. Cheers. Alain (Montréal, Canada)

I also use tea tree oil in my witch hazel. Sometimes add lavender oil as well, which isn't as flowery sweet as it sounds. The combination of the three gives a woody, outdoor scent. There can be side effects for some, from too much tea tree oil. I think I remember reading a doctor of dermatology saying 11 drops to 16 ounces of witch hazel.

If you'd like the antibacterial/antifungal effects, 2% is a good start. That's the same % they use in Dr Bronner's. That's a good % for preservation also.

Nice tutorial Paul👍 I don't mind the scent of witch hazel myself, it's not offensive to me. But, I do like scented witch hazel more. My method of adding scent is more complicated but the results are pretty much the same I suspect. Thanks for the video. Enjoy!

Thanks for the tutorial! I'd read online about how to do this using herbs from a garden. Have you ever tried this method? Could be fun to make a "Mrs. H Special Reserve"! Going to try this myself with some of the sage that grows here in Montana.
